Rodfini: A Mashup Lullaby

Summary: Frankie can't stop feeling the movements the baby makes inside his belly while he was in bed one night, so Joe helps get the unborn to settle down by singing.

The title of the story represents the mash-up of two songs, Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole.

Note: So, Joe plays the piano IRL, but in my story, he plays the guitar as he sings to the unborn baby inside Frankie's stomach. Remember, this is only fanfiction.

Frankie and Joe had been engaged for almost two years, and they were currently expecting their first child together.

The two met on the set of HSMTMTS, and later confirmed their relationship. They had been each other's support throughout everything they did, and for a while, Frankie and Joe had a few talks on what they both exactly had wanted: getting married and having a family together. About a couple years after HSMTMTS, Joe proposed to Frankie, and he accepted. Joe and Frankie announced their engagement to their families and close friends, including their former costars. They later announced it on their social media accounts, and their fans commented their congratulations to the couple. 

A year since their engagement, Frankie got a little sick, and Joe took him to see a doctor to find out why. After the results were in, the doctor confirmed Frankie was pregnant. Joe and Frankie were shockingly surprised, but when they talked it over, they happily agreed to go through the pregnancy since they wanted to have a family after all. When Frankie was 12 weeks along, he and Joe told everyone, and their families and friends could not be happier for the both of them. As months passed, Frankie and Joe did not want to know the gender of their baby as they both wanted to be surprised, and the two then planned to get married a little later that year after the baby was born. During the time, Frankie was feeling some discomfort in his pregnancy as he was in development of his baby bump growing out. He sometimes had trouble sleeping at night, even when the baby inside his stomach was being active with the movements it would make.

One night in bed, Frankie kept shifting himself over on his side of the bed as he was trying to feel comfortable, even with a pregnancy pillow he had for his bump, but he could not do it as he was feeling the baby's kicks. Joe was sleeping peacefully on his side of the bed until he was slowly awoken when he started to notice about his fiance tossing and turning. He turned on the lamp on his nightstand and grabbed his glasses from there.

"Frankie?"

Frankie gasped in a spook when Joe scared him a little.

"Hey, it's okay. It's just me," Joe soothed him.

"Oh. Did I wake you, Joe?" Frankie asked.

"Well, just a little," Joe answered.

Frankie grabbed his glasses from his nightstand.

"I'm sorry. I've been having trouble sleeping, because of the baby kicking my insides like crazy, and I don't know how to get it to settle down, so I could go to sleep without feeling uncomfortable most of the time," Frankie stated as he rubbed his rounded belly.

"Aw, I'm sorry, honey," Joe put one hand on Frankie's shoulder and the other on the stomach where he felt a tiny kick there.

"Let's face it: I'm never gonna sleep again as long as I'm like this until the end!" Frankie complained.

Then Joe started to think of an idea to help Frankie out until hit him.

"Hey, I know," Joe started.

"What?" Frankie got the attention.

"What if I sang something to the baby? If I do it..."

"Then it'll settle down, and I could get some sleep I've needed?" Frankie finished in question.
