Chapter 19: They Came

"Hanni! You're leaving already?! Don't, stay with us for a bit!" Jay yelled at the short girl's direction.

Hanni waves him off and slurs a little, she's a bit tipsy at this point. Jungwon heard this too and turns to look at her direction even jogging up to her, holding her wrist.
"Nah, I'm going home."

"Are you sure? Can you go home alone? Do you want me to take you home?" Jungwon asks her with worry in his tone. Hanni flashes him a quick smile then she wiggled her wrist off his grasp and yelled through the loud music booming throughout the whole room.
"No, I'm found, I'm sober enough to go back home myself. See you guys!"

Jay shook his head drunkenly at her before joining in with the others. Jungwon stood there, watches the girl walk towards the door, he scratches the back of his head, surely he was expecting her to stay for a bit more.

He turns back to where their friends and colleagues are at. Everyone's here except Minji, now also Hanni. Ryujin is with Yeji, Karina is with Winter, Yujin is with Minju, and the boys are there as well. It's a shame Hanni left way too soon.

Hanni doesn't how she got here but right now ahe's nearing Minji's house, when the driver asked her where she was going she said Minji's address instead of hers, what is she going to do anyways?

She walked closer, slightly having a trouble walking, ruffling her own hair as she curses under her breath. She just wanna have a talk, just talk.

Minji sees it again, for the second time. In a split second, Haerin's eyes glew golden before the latter blinks them off, then turning to look at the side.

The sudden switch of Haerin's expression amuses Minji, she didn't even get to process fast the fact that Haerin is now pulling her with her out of the kitchen, up to the stairs and into the bedroom. Locking the door rapidly then they both backs away from it.

Minji stood there as Haerin looks around, scanning the room for something.

"W-Who's out there Haerin?"

"It's them, they're looking for me. Go hide Minji—" she stopped Haerin from pushing her under the bed, she held her wrists and says,

"What are you gonna do?" she looked into her serious feline eyes.

She felt her grips her hands, she spoke lowly almost like a whisper.
"I'll lure them away—"she tries to slip away from her grasp but she held her still.

"No, we can just run away."

"We can't. Atleast not both." the look on Haerin's face is so serious that Minji fears what that meant.

"Haerin, please."

"I can hear.. around 20 to 30 of them outside." Haerin says as if matter-o-factly, staring into Minji's eyes.

Minji shook her head in dismay and clenches her jaws.
"But you can take them down.. right?" she says with total worry, worrying is an understatement, she's panicking.

Haerin clenches her own jaws, she was silent for a second before nodding. "Yeah, now go hide." Although she knows something is about to get down tonight.

Minji envelops her smaller frame into a tight hug, as if it'll be the last time she'll be seeing her. Haerin was the first to pull away, she gestures Minji to slip under the bed to which she did.

Under there she watche Haerin walks towards the door with no hesitance but before she completely walks out of it she saw her look over her shoulder and meets eyes with her.

The look in her eyes, it looked sad and as if apologizing without words.

Minji's heart started to beat fast in anxiety. She heard the main door downstairs bursts open and faint murmurs.

Haerin walks down the stairs staring intently at the men, trying her best not to get taunted at all.
"Vanessa, you're gonna have to come with us. Turn yourself in nice and easy and no one will get hurt."

Her eyes lands on the guns they're holding, she knows what they loaded it with. She can smell it.

Her body appeared relaxed to them and so he continued says to one of the men,
"Go handcuff her."

One of them hesitantly approaches her, holding a silver handcuffs. He stood behind her and reaches for both her wrists. He took on then he reaches for the other when Haerin twists his wrists and arm behind him, now she's standing behind him.

They started firing their guns towards ger direction, she used the man as a shield and retreats to wards the kitchen. Now the loud gunshots along with the loud crashes of the furnitures and glasses will probably attract attention in the neighborhood.

Minji jumped at the sound, covering her ears with her palms as she screws her eyes shut. She's shaking, never in her life she ever though she'll get involved with such thing, she only watches this on action movies.

'Is she okay?!' is all she kept on thinking. As much as she wanted to help but she knows she doesn't stand a chance. Heck, she never even got into a fight back in highschool, she always have this good student image stuck up to her forehead.

She jumps again when she heard another loud crashing then the hurried footsteps. She almost had a heart attack when her phone rang, she had trouble reaching for it inside her pants since she's laid on her stomach, under the bed. She fumbled with it frantically and succesfully answered the call, she didn't even have the chance to check who was calling.
"H-Hello?" she whispered, voice shaking.

"Minjiii.. are you home?" came an unusual tone of Hanni, she furrowed her eyebrows and looked at the phone screen, only realizing it was Hanni who's calling her. "Wh—"

"Minjii are you hauurme?? I'm just right at the... at the cornerr. I'll be there in a momenttt~"

"No, you can't—" she frantically shakes her head.

"Pleaze, Minjii. I just wanted to say sorry, I'm sorryyy~ I should've told twuu.." Hanni started to sob from the other side of the line. Minji slips out from under the bed and took a look outside through the window, eyes acanning down the whole area. She was scared a second ago but a sudden adrenaline rush surges through her body that she can feel her own heartbeat thumping so loud, even she can feel a thump in her head. She is so damn worried.

Couple of men in black suits scattered around the area, her eyes scans some more. Hanni is out there, she can't forgive herself if anything were to happen to that woman.

Hanni took few more steps before coming to a stop, she raises her gaze and furrowed her eyebrows.

'Why's there a lot of people there?' she thought to herself. Squinting her eyes attempting to shrug the haze away.

One of the men saw her and gave her a hard look, she was confused but she widens her eyes when she heard one of them shouts.
"Shit, kill that one, no one has to see this!"

Her mouth gapes, not being able to process it yet when she heard a shout and a gunshot.

It's almost 1 in the morning still I am wide awake so I decided to just drop another short chapter while we're still at it. We're more into action this time, let's so how it ends.
