Chapter 20: Disclosure

'Why's there a lot of people there?' she thought to herself. Squinting her eyes attempting to shrug the haze away.

One of the men saw her and gave her a hard look, she was confused but she widens her eyes when she heard one of them shouts.
"Shit, kill that one, no one has to see this!"

Her mouth gapes, not being able to process it yet when she heard a shout and a gunshot.

Minji seeths out a curse as she spots Hanni walking towards her house's direction aimlessly, she's clearly drunk. She looked down and boy it's quite a fall.
'Oh fuck this!'

She braces herself, she looks ahead of her and there's a big tree, she lunges towards it, reaching out as far as she could and successfully held onto one of it's branches. She huffed and leaps into another after another finally reaching the ground. How did she do it when she haven't really tried climbing trees before? She doesn't know it too, it was pure adrenaline rush. She had to get to Hanni.

She saw it, on guy argued with the other while Hanni stood there frozen. One raises his gun to shoot Hanni, she couldn't think of any thing else but to save her.

Another gunshot echoes throughout the neighborhood and they wondered why's no one still popping their heads out their houses then screams at the horrifying scene before them? They probably think they're fireworks..

But does fireworks really sounds like gunshots? Literally there's a difference in them, but then again it's almost midnight, it's almost new year.

Hanni had her hands clamped on her own ears as she flinches, she was expecting an unbearable pain but she felt none. She opens her eyes a little to take a peek only to widen when she now realizes she's being hugged by a much bigger frame, the clutch on her body was tight, showing that whoever shieled her from the gunshot was shot and hurt.

"Minji!?"
She yelps when she felt her leans to her and they staggers backwards.

From a mile away, Haerin hears this and she whips her head towards their direction. Her cat eyes widening in the process. Minji is shot.

For the first time ever she felt fear, fear of losing someone dear to her. She turns on her heels and sprints back towards Minji and Hanni's direction.

She growled and lunges at the man who shot Minji, clasping his throat before twisting it, his body fell limp and some of the men around them whimpered, backs away a little.

Hanni was in a haze but right now, it sort of vanished in thin air. Now her mind is focused or she thought so? She shook her head trying to wake herself up if this was ever a dream, but it's not.

She saw Haerin's eyes flashes golden and her skin crawls at the sight, ahe doesn't know who to be afraid of now at this point.

But it was Minji who proved her not to be scared of the cat-eyed girl.

"Haerin." she hears her grunt out, watches her turn around to talk to Haerin who started approaching them.

They both helped Minji steady up, Hanni couldn't take her eyes off the two, especially Haerin. She have never seen anyone like her before. What is she?

With her small form, lifting a grown man by his neck leaving his feet dangling in air is not normal. Her eyes glew gold for pete's sake!

"Vanessa! Just turn yourself in!" one man hollers, pointing a gun at Haerin. Hanni furrowed her eyebrows at this, she's completely lost, doesn't understand a single thing at all.

'Vanessa? Who's Vanessa?'

Haerin turns to face them while Hanni takes a hold of Minji's injured form. "Haerin." she heard her weakly say through her neck, Hanni's eyes flickers back to the girl she calls out to.
