A/N: So this story was actually written just a few hours before New Year's where I live, and I dove right into writing it without creating a summary/story outline like I usually do beforehand. But for being somewhat of a rushed story, I'm actually really proud of how this turned out, and think it's a new personal favorite.

Is this part 2 to Christmas Wishes, Mistletoe Kisses? Yes. Because who doesn't love the romance of a sweet kiss during fireworks?

I hope you all enjoy, and Happy New Year!

"Seriously, Hedgehog, what's the big deal?" Shadow grumbled, his usual scowl on his face, as his over excited boyfriend dragged him through the dark and chilly streets of Station Square. "It's just an oversized disco ball! What makes you think that I would rather be standing out in the cold, watching that slowly descend to the ground, when I could be reading by my fireplace with a mug of hot chocolate instead?"

But Sonic only laughed, and tightened his grip on Shadow's hand.

"You'll see, Shads! I know you hate crowds, but trust me. You'll love this!" He exclaimed, smiling brightly, as the two hedgehogs made their way farther into the city. "Plus, I have a special surprise for you that will make you forget all about your complaints."

Shadow groaned, but couldn't deny that he was a little bit curious now.

"You're lucky I love you enough to put up with all of your nonsense, you know that?" He muttered, trying to hide the smile that was creeping up on his face. Though Sonic still saw it right away.

"Ha, I know. And I love you too, Shadow." Sonic quickly leaned over to give his boyfriend a light kiss on the cheek before pulling away to continue dragging him along. "Now come on! We need to meet up with the others for a bit before the ball drop."

Shadow immediately blushed after Sonic kissed him, and hid his face with his free hand out of embarrassment.

After all, he and Sonic had only been together for a few days now, and while he was incredibly happy with the blue hero, he was also very new to relationships, and got flustered easily. Even despite his tough attitude.

Around ten minutes later, Sonic and Shadow managed to find their friends though the large crowd, and were instantly surrounded by them.

"Sonic!" Tails cheered happily, as he ran up to his brother, and hugged him tightly, while Omega and Rouge went over to greet Shadow. Who was back to frowning again.

"Heh, hey Bud!" Sonic hugged the little Kitsune back just as tightly, and then smiled at Silver, Blaze, and Knuckles when they came over to join them. Followed by Cream, Cheese, and Vanilla.

"Hey, Big Blue." Rouge smiled in her typical smug manner while she gave Sonic a hug. "So you actually managed to drag Mister Grinch out here I see."

She chuckled at her own joke, while Sonic rolled his eyes with a smirk, and Shadow huffed. Having heard that joke before, and not at all finding it amusing.

"Yeah, and he's not happy about it at all as you can clearly see." Sonic stated, looking over at his edgy boyfriend. "I had to practically carry him out of the house."

"You did?" That comment surprised everyone, but Rouge was the first to recover from it.

"Oh Honey, I would have loved to see that!" She began to giggle uncontrollably, making Shadow blush a deeper shade of red, and he growled lowly.

"Rouge, just because we're friends, don't think for a second that you're safe from me." He hissed, his red eyes almost glowing. "I will not hesitate to remind you why it's wise to avoid getting on my bad side."
