'The cycle starts again...' you say to yourself as you threw on some jeans and a cute crop top, absolutely hating the fact that you'd have to go back to that hell hole, with winter in it, which definitely made it worse
You took an Uber today, fearing that you'd actually crash your car if you drove to school, but that didn't sound so bad anyway
You got to the campus and headed to your first class of the day...
Timeskip to end of the day
You were waiting for the Uber you called to come pick you up when you saw he just completely cancelled on you
You couldn't help but huff and go inside to waste even more time in which you could be sleeping or playing Fortnite or something, but it was pouring and you couldn't just go waking
You noticed everyone was starting to leave and you grew anxious, the Uber app was collapsed and you were traumatized from taxis ever since you accidentally spilled some coffee in the car and the stain just wouldn't go away
So you just hoped the rain would go away, all the loan umbrellas were gone, and your friends were already gone
There was barely a soul in the building now, and it was unknowns, so you were about to take a chance in the rain while covering your laptop case with your sweater
When you heard hurried footsteps walking behind you, you turned around and lord who did you find. In normal circumstances you'd be damned to see her, you'd roll your eyes and walk away
But you were a woman in distress with an uncovered computer and no umbrella, so you tried to not be rude, for once
"Huh, what are you doing here?" She asked when she first saw you, she seemed hesitant
"I uh, have no way to go home" you said a bit quietly, still hesitant of what she would say, more like hesitant as in will she turn me down?
You were sure she'd say no, but you'd give it a shot anyway "uhh, damn that sucks..." she said low and awkward as she started to back away and you sighed, 'of course...' well, at least you tried
As you turned back to the door, to just miserably stare at the never ending rain, you could hear her footsteps start slowing down until they eventually stopped, "hey y/n, I can take you home" she said as she face palmed and you smiled teasingly
"Knew you just couldn't say no" you said as you followed her to her car and she could only roll her eyes
You got in and took place on the copilot's seat, which you didn't want to do, but it's whatever, it'd be way worse if you'd gone on the backseat
"So" she cleared her throat and looked straight to the steering wheel, obviously avoiding your gaze "where do I take you?" She asked as she turned the key, making the car start
"[whatever place] please." She nodded and got on the driveway.
The whole ride was definitely awkward, but you were expecting that, it got better when she turned on the radio though, which was playing some r&b you'd never heard before
As weird as it sounds, you found the silence that sat upon the both of you a little more than comfortable, the air didn't feel as thick as you'd make it out to be, it was just
cool.
You relaxed into your seat and basked in the warmth of the heaters, you could almost start to forget she was a person you hated, or did you? Was it really hatred? Or just a feeling of jealousy from both of you? But jealousy why? The constant competition over class best you supposed
