Danielle and you had known each other since kindergarten, constant play dates while your moms drank wine and talked about their husbands. Every single Saturday she and her mom would come over to your house and you'd spend a good 3 hours in the play kitchen.

She would make a menu and you'd "cook" whatever your moms ordered. Everything about your friendship has been pure

So now that you're 18, she'll call you when she's having a bad time and you'd always show up.

Or if you were fired from your job, she'd come over with some food and make you feel better, she had a certain way with words that was able to soothe you at any given moment

You were very sure that you could be on the edge of a building, about to fall, but hearing her voice would make you smile, but you'd always been friends

Absolutely nothing more than that, and none of you ever thought about it as something more anyway.

But now, with her half naked laying soundly on top of you, you don't think so anymore. She could wake up and say it was just 'best friend' activities

Be so fr, no best friends say how much they love each other as they make out.

You don't remember how it happened, you were just watching a movie, you were a bit down since you'd had a bad day at school so she came to cheer you up

"What movie should we watch?" She said as she propped herself by your side at the couch, "hm,,I feel like watching something Christopher Nolan" she nodded, and found his catalog, "we should watch inception" you said "okay"

She pressed play and interlocked your fingers together, put her head on your shoulder and focused on the movie.

The whole rest of the movie was a torture for you. See, you were a big romantic, and since you recently broke up with your last partner, you gave all your love to Danielle and your mom.

Sometimes you'd go out for groceries but you'd spot Danielle's favorite snack, so you'd buy it for her. See a plushie she'd like? Bought. To be honest, it was a whole relationship, without the sex and all but you were only 18. Except, none of you liked to admit that. You were "just best friends".

A bit past half of the movie had passed already when she asked "do you a bit feel better now?" You smiled "yeah, I'm better now. Why?" You asked, sensing something in the air, not sure what it was though

"Nothing, just wanted to know" she mumbled and went back to her original position.

A little while later, you felt her looking at you intently, "what?" You asked her,, feeling a bit creeped out at the fixed stare she had "I'm a little bored, can we go outside to look at the sky?"

You grabbed a few blankets and led her outside, "you must be very bored today, you usually like to watch movies" you commented, a bit stranged out that she didn't enjoy the movie "What are you talking about?" "Well, you enjoy everything as long as it's a movie, you even liked the fnaf movie!" You exclaimed as you both erupted in laughter

"Yeah, I did. It wasn't the movie bothering me anyway" she said a bit silent, and you wondered (if she knows, what it means, to find your dreams come true) "oh, what was bothering you then?" You asked as you reached to grab her hand

"It's just that..." she fell silent, you could feel how her heartbeat increased, her skin was hot, was she nervous? "the moon's beautiful tonight, isn't it?", you felt her tense up, she looked at you, god she hoped she hadn't fucked up, you could only feel the same and you were very sure she could feel you blushing and going hot.

You didn't want to believe it, but she did just say that. Your mind went Tesla and you analyzed the whole situation quickly

It was time to accept you loved each other, dates disguised as 'hangouts', sleeping cuddled to each other and it was 'just to get comfortable' so you could only say-

-"it's true, isn't it?" You felt her hand grip yours, you knew she wouldn't say it directly anytime soon, but with her saying it like this, it felt... it felt just right.

You didn't need to say anything for her to know what you wanted to do, her flushed cheeks indicating likewise, although you feared that's not what she wanted

She noticed you hesitate,so she made the first move. Of course, you'd kissed before, but only under the excuse of helping you practice for your past girlfriend. Best friends right?😭

She took a small step further, fighting all the demons telling her to just grab you and take you inside, but nonetheless, despite all the thoughts of your friendship being destroyed, she grabbed your face and whispered under her breath

"I'm not sure if I'll be regretting this tomorrow but please know, I'll never regret you, I'll never regret anytime I ever touched you, because..." she was unable to finish, but she was able to finally lean in and capture your lips in a gentle kiss,

Her lips moving rhythmically against yours, your hands moving along her waist, your breaths being the loudest sound around. It was perfect. She was perfect.

So that's how it happened, now, you hoped she wouldn't regret it by the morning, you knew she wouldn't, but at least now you know, that when she wakes up, you'll both know how you feel about each other
