Hey guys, sorry it's been a while, I was just pretty busy with school. Also, I started a new book, it's oneshots like these, except based on the Avatar (atla and tlok) verse, if y'all like the shows, you should go show my book a little love and request anything!

I was listening to Ariana's eternal sunshine intro and I got inspired for this one

For your whole life since you were 14, you've been completely in awe with Kim Chaewon. She was the most beautiful girl in your eyes, and now that you were 21, those thoughts haven't changed one bit.

You weren't that 'hopeless romantic' type, of course, you'd only felt true love towards three people in your life, your parents, and Chaewon. She'd been a close friend since you were little, and when you entered your teenage years, you developed romantic feelings for her, and you've been lovestruck since then.

In sophomore year, she somehow found out about the ridiculous crush you had on her, and instead of her having the terrible response you imagined, she started getting closer to you. By senior year, you were already involved romantically, although for some reason, it never occurred to her that you actually needed to formalize a relationship, you were already doing everything girlfriends did anyway

It did frustrate you though, you wanted to take that final step, be able to call her yours and having her call you hers. "We can still say that anytime, we don't have to label our thing if it's already obvious" she always said, and you didn't protest because you couldn't budge to lose her

Despite that though, she was great, she never once disrespected whatever it was that you had going on for all the years it'd been going on. Your guess was that she just didn't like labels, but you'd already been just dating for 3 years and it was getting on your nerves.

Your doorbell rang and you sprinted downstairs while putting on your earrings, you knew it was Chaewon, and you didn't want her to know you woke up late for your date

"Good morning" she said with a smile as she kissed your cheek and came inside your apartment , "I'm going to take a guess and say you slept in" you opened your mouth in bewilderment, trying to appear innocent "what are you on? I woke up just before my alarm even rang!" You tried to play it cool so she wouldn't be upset that you most definitely definitely forgot about today's date

"You totally forgot didn't you?" She had you caught and there was no escaping now, you just sighed in defeat and she chuckled "well, maybe I just forgot to put an alarm beforehand" you mumbled while averting your gaze from hers and looked for your phone "I know every single one of your go to orders in every restaurant you recur, I can definitely tell when you've slept in" she said and grabbed your chin to make you look at her and kissed you in the lips, you smiled into the kiss and blissfully sighed after pulling away

"Don't worry about it, we're not in a hurry, just get ready patiently" she told you and plopped down on your bed, while she admired you silently as you put your hair wax on.

A few minutes went by and you were done, so you made her get up and into the car. "I drove us last time, and the time before that, I think you should take the wheel now" she said as she blocked you from getting into the passenger seat "fine, but I just like to be your passenger princess" you smugly grinned at her and she could only roll her eyes at your remark "well, I want to be yours now then" you nodded and started the engine before driving off

For the past few days, she'd spent a lot of time feeling like something was missing, not in a grievance way, more in like a 'I need to do something about it' way, and she knew exactly what it was, she had to make you her girlfriend, she'd spent far too long holding back, she wanted to make your relationship finally official so you could tell everybody you were girlfriends, so you were able to make love without the feeling that the next day, you'll wake up alone in bed with only a little thank you note residing on the side of the bed she'd been in

She yearned for that, and she was finally ready. But she wasn't so excited of being just girlfriends, still then, she'd feel something was missing, and that something, being marriage. A much more deeper and spiritual relationship, that's what she truly wanted, but she knew you'd have to have a real relationship before getting married, it's just how it needed to be. You don't even live together and now she's thinking about marriage? She's out of her mind

But she was willing to do anything to become your wife one day, so she'd follow all the rules she had to follow for maybe a few years of a formal relationship, and then she'd finally, legally and spiritually, become your partner for life.

You got to the restaurant and sat down, ordered your food and chatted for a while. After you ate, you went back to her place and took a dip in the pool. "The weather's perfect today" you said as you took a plunge in the water, "no more freezing cold water to swim in" you happily swam around and she giggled at you

"Could you come here, y/n?" She called you over to where she was, still in the pool, but resting her arms in the edge, "I've been thinking for a while, and I know it's terribly late for it anyways, but I just wanted to do it" you smiled, you could read her as soon as she started talking, and you'd been waiting for that moment for so long

"I want to be your girlfriend. And that's just an understatement, I want to be your... I don't know, I just know I want to be your everything, I truly, deeply, believe that you and I are in this together, and I hope that we are for a very long time. So even if it's not when you wanted, will you take me as your girlfriend?" She too, your hand and hoped for the best. She knew what your answer would be, but she was still a little nervous

"Of course Chae, I'd really really love to be your girlfriend. Late or not, I wouldn't want it any other way. It was bound to happen sooner or later." She smiled cheekily, grabbed you by the waist and jumped around with you in the pool, you were truly, locked in forever.
