You had come to Japan for a few work related issues that were to take care of, and of course, to get your mind off her for a few days

See; you're in a relationship, 1 year going on 2, with this girl, Kazuha. You'd met her through some friends and hit it off rather quickly

Two weeks after meeting you were already going on your first date, she was just so charming and adorable that you couldn't help but be down bad for her

And to your luck, she also seemed to be.

But a couple of days ago, you'd come home late from work and missed an important date, which was the reschedule of a previous date you'd also missed because of your job

To say that she was mad was an absurd oversimplification, why you put your job over her was beyond her

She always wanted to be perfect for you, she was able to find the balance between you and her job, although you hadn't seemed to find yours, which frustrated her a little bit

But she knew you cared, she knew because you'd given up a huge aspiration only to be her. You were supposed to go back to the uk to help your dad with his important business, yet you decided to stay in Korea to be with Kazuha, taking on a killer engineering job, but at least with a good pay

So she never complained about you coming home late or missing dates, until that Thursday, she was especially upset about her day at work going a bit rough, and she was looking forward to a relaxing night with her favorite person in the world

That is, until she was getting ready and noticed you weren't home yet, but she brushed it off, thinking that you'd arrive at the restaurant

But when you never arrived, she paid a literally empty bill of just one glass of wine and left for home and sunk into bed, to cry, most probably

She was contemplating the fucking ceiling when she heard the much dreaded sound of the opening door and your so familiar walking pattern becoming louder with every step you took

She sighed in bed, squirming, she didn't really want to see you right now, she'd lash out or say something she didn't want to say

But before she could pretend to be asleep, you bursted into the room, an apologetic look on your face as you very quickly opened your mouth to speak

"Babe, please listen to me I-" but before you could even continue she put her hand on her temple and shook her head

"No y/n, I'm so tired of this, don't even bother" she said as she avoided your gaze and tucked in aggressively

You weren't in the mood for a fight, more so because today at work had been terrible but you just wanted to come home to the comfort of who you hoped would be your wife

You didn't forget the date, it was running through your mind the whole time while you planned a barely important building to you, but you couldn't just leave, you'd be risking being fired

"Fine.." you mumbled as you fluffed your pillow beside her and lay down, she sat up and just frowned and blinked, why the hell had you not insisted

She just huffed and gave you her back and went to sleep

A few minutes passed and you couldn't sleep, even if it was arguing, you just loved hearing that goddamn voice that managed to do so much to you

"I'm sorry zuha, really, I swear I couldn't leave" you whispered in an attempt to get at her soft side, but there was no chance in hell that was working

"I know that" she sighed and turned to face you "but not even a message? I looked like an idiot sitting alone in a table for two and having to leave because my date never came!" She got even redder and when you struggled to respond

She just shook her head and kissed your lips "just because I love these" she said as she ran a quick finger through your lips

But she just shoved you off the bed and threw you your pillow, "you're doing the couch tonight" she mumbled as she closed her eyes to sleep

The next morning you tried to see if it had worn off her cause she seemed kind of messing around last night, but she just came down and took you in for a second, took a deep breath and left again

"Hey, I'm leaving today, remember? That trip to Japan for like a week" "of course I remember, unlike the woman who just so happens to be my girlfriend" you rolled your eyes and tried to approach her

She didn't really do anything to stop you, she stood in place and waited, "so you're not saying goodbye?" You asked as you unsuccessfully tried to wrap an arm around her waist

"I don't think I should" she said as she placed a hand on the counter "let's do something, you leave, we do not call, just text. Give me some time to cool off, and as SOON AS you're back here, we're going on a date. Your treat" she said as she wore a proud smile on her face

You nodded, that didn't sound so bad "of course, I'll make sure that nothing gets in the way this time, hm? I promise you" she crossed her arms and nodded wordlessly

"Good then, you should be heading to the airport, take care. Text me when you've arrived" "To Japan?" "No, to the airport" you chuckled "I knew you still loved me" you laughed and she hugged you and patted your back

So right now, you're in Osaka, alone in your apartment as you contemplated if to text her or not, and you decided you would

You: zuha, I really miss you. You really stand with that no call policy?

Kazuha: of course I stand with it, you're lucky that's the only thing that I've done

You: you're right, anyway, I did call your mom, and I'll be giving her some stuff I bought for the two of them tomorrow

Kazuha: Really? What've you bought them?

You: Just this new surround sound I think they'll enjoy, since they like watching Harry Potter and some roses for your mom too

Kazuha: That's really nice, y/n. I'm sure they'll like it

You: I know you want to say it

Kazuha: what?

You: you know

Kazuha: mhm, I love you, good night

You: I love you too seen

"Damn" you mumbled, but you understood where it came from, she's always so forgiving of your job that it impresses you

And it was about time she had enough, so now you really want to change, for her, and all that she does for your relationship

So you went out and had your own Kazuha shopping spree, a new Nintendo switch lite, vbucks for Fortnite, dunk lows, a couple hoodies from her favorite brand, some snacks you knew she yearned for and finally, promise rings

You're aware that gifts won't change the fact you really hurt her, but they're just like a backup if you get hard stuck on your words

You planned on taking her on that date, as you'd agreed on, but you also took action, you asked your boss if you could be moved to a less heavy spot, maybe take on the role of a minor associate

You really wanted to please Kazuha, she deserved nothing less than that.
