i got home before rich and so i went upstairs to but the babies to bed. it was getting late and i wanted to relax with my husband for the rest of the night.
when i was done getting the kids to bed i went down stairs and rich was walking through the door.
R "hey babe"
A "hey"
R "are the girls asleep?"
A "yes they are"
R "great i got dinner for us."
A "yay"
we sit down at the kitchen counter and got our food.
R "so how was your day with your parents?"
A "it was really nice actually. i can tell my dad is really trying to get himself together and he is doing a good job but i will never forget the things he did to me as a kid."
R "i know you won't but if he wants to step up and be your father you should take it."
A "i know and he really wanted to get to know me better and he even started asking about you."
R "what did you say?"
A "well he asked if you treated me right and i said yes he does."
R "oh"
A "i think i want my dad back into my life."
R "i think that is a good idea."
A "so how was your day at work?"
R "it was good i had a meeting today with a new client named Lincoln Cosby."
A "how did that go?"
R "it went really well he is a good player and i see a lot of potential in him."
A "well that's good"
R "do we have any plans this weekend?"
A "uh no i don't think so"
R "we should have a family weekend."
A "i would love that."
R "we could go to your house in Palm Springs."
A "okay i will call the housekeepers to get it ready for us."
R "perfect" he kisses the top of my head and puts his plate in the sink.
R "babe i'll be upstairs"
A "okay"
Rich went upstairs and i clean up the kitchen. i hate going to bed with a messy house. it makes me feel all messed up the next morning.
while i was cleaning up i got a call from my dad.
on the phone with mark.
A "hey dad"
M "hey sweetie"
M "look i know today wasn't what you were expecting i know you were just looking to see your mom but i wanted you to know that i really enjoyed our time together today."
A "i was just talking to rich and i was saying that i really liked getting to know you again. and i'm ready to have you back into my life."
M "wait really?"
A "yeah you've gained my trust back but please don't take my children again okay?"
M "okay i promise."
A "thank you."
M "alright well i'll let you go."
A "okay bye"
M "bye i love you."
A "i- i love you too."
im glad to have my dad back. he was the missing piece.

i overheard adele and her dad on the phone. seems like they have made up.
i'm glad that she has her dad back. every since we met we've known everything about each other but the stories about her dad were the hardest for her to share so i'm glad she has him back.
it makes me wish that i had my parents here with me but i know that they are looking down at me and smiling.
