"First was me. I'm the first... There was me in the beggining.. and in the end." Brick says to himself as he laid back on the chair he was sitting, once again in his office. He takes a deep breath, now remembering the moments form before, from the start of his life to now, many years have passed since the demise of Basilisk, and since his son, Brice has married Angela, "I wonder now, how could it have gone? So many ways to go about it... What if I never took him down, if I never did that, or this, what if-" His mind began to get cluttered up again as he then stops himself, "No.. I shouldn't think much about it."
The door opens, "Oh Brick.." Christina walks into the room and she lays on top of Brick.
"Well.."
"You know.. bored again, it got me thinking. Doesn't it have you thinking too?" She asked.
"It's been a slow day today hasn't it? It certainly does have us both thinking." Brick chuckled.
"Yes.. but would you rather a slow day or a day full of chaos?"
"Sometimes I prefer the chaos, as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. But during those times I still wish for slow times. A bit of both actually.. but these boring times sure got me thinking now."
"Thinking about what?" Christina asked, looking up at Brick.
"I thought about my life, before hand. I know now about my father.. yes I'm reminding myself of his legacy. As a conqueror, a hero to his people, but.. ruthless to others. But that was life, constant war. And then he came in.. and took away my parents lives before I could even talk, he.."
Christina puts her hand on Brick's shoulder, "You don't have to tell me if it makes you uncomfortable.."
"No it's fine. I shouldn't be uncomfortable anyways.. I've known you for decades already, I should be better.. but- he only came into existence because of.. my grandfather."
"Grandfather?" Christina sits up, interested.
"Yes, my grandfather who.. well his wife died giving birth to my father. My grandfather was burdened with sadness.. he searches then for a way to bring her back, and it eventually lead to him discovering Bill... My grandfather fought to bring his wife back no matter what, and in the end.. it only got everyone killed it seemed." Brick says.
"I'm so sorry about that, I also thought about my past too. Before you- back in the old country.. it was brutal in there especially during the war, I managed to escape out of the country luckily and became a doctor and then- I met you in the battlefield." Their eyes stare at each other.
"You're still as beautiful as you were that day..." Brick smiles.
Christina smiles back, "I'm so happy you... You think that way too."
"I love your smile, it radiates this feeling you know? Like it radiates a feeling of- comfort, sunshine.. I'm glad that I have you." Brick hugs Christina.
"I'm glad too." She hugs him back.
"Something feels unfinished. One last part is missing and I don't know what it is." Brick suddenly says, letting go of the hug and he looks out the window.
"Unfinished?"
"Yes, there is something in the back of my head that I just don't understand, that something is missing. And I just hope it gets to me soon so it can be done with, as it's holding me in someway back." Brick says.
"Holding you back..? That's not like you, you've always been so strong.. you have no clue what it is than?"
"No clue what it is or could be, but I can only hypothesize." Brick says.
