Chapter 17

Niall...

"This part goes here, I promise you."

"No it doesn't, you dip-shit."

"Niall, look at the instructions. It says it right here."

"I don't need any damn instructions. I helped my dad build ours in both London and Ireland."

"Well this is America, jackass. Everything is different here."

I huffed in frustration and dropped the pieces of metal I was holding. "Then you do it. I didn't realize your 'task' was to watch me while I assemble your damn grill. You're making me waste my relaxing Sunday."

"I have too been helping." He argued back while crossing his arms like a child.

I simply stared at him with the 'really?' look. "Pine cone duty?" He questioned pathetically.

"Louis." I said bored. "We're in LA. If you find a pine cone I'll give you a million dollars."

He huffed, standing up from the patio chair. "Fine."

"Fine? What do you mean fine? I've been standing here for an hour in this damn heat trying to build this stupid grill for your party tomorrow, that I won't be going to, and all you've done is sit in that damn chair and read me false instructions!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up exasperated.

"Alright, alright. Sorry, I'll help you." He finally said after an hour of watching me slave over this metallic, heat radiating, piece of shit.

"Gee, thanks for the help, Louis." I rolled my eyes sarcastically.

After another hour of building, with Louis' help this time, we finally got the grill assembled. "This is a nice grill." I hummed as I analyzed it.

"Oh really? I thought it was 'a metallic hunk of shit' considering you said it under your breath thirty times." He chuckled mockingly.

"Oh, piss off." I shoved him.

"We clocked it in about two hours, look at that." He proclaimed.

"What an accomplishment." I said flatly.

He ignored my sarcasm and proceeded to clap his hands together. "Well, its only four. What do ya say we take a quick dip in the pool to cool off, then I give ya that tour I promised?"

I wiped off the sweat on my face with my white shirt that had been removed about two hours ago. "Hell yeah, mate. But we have to make it quick before they all come home."

I followed him over to the pool and watched as he jumped right in, jean shorts and all. I was already shirtless, so I just followed suit and jumped in with my shorts too. "Damn, that feels so nice." I panted as I emerged from the cool water.

"Tell me about it." He sighed as he floated by me on his back.

"This reminds me that I have a pool back at me and Harry's apartment building that we've yet to use." I hadn't been swimming since I left London last October. It felt good to feel the water on my skin again. "This is probably one of the nicest pools I've seen." I commented.

There were rock formations all around, to make it seem like a man made waterfall. The diving board was on the edge of the farther end, and there was a good size slide attached to the left side. There was another small wall of rocks that separated the pool from the hot tub. Basically, I never wanted to leave.
