"Taehyung stop looking in the stockings." Mr. Kim says as he waves his son away from the couch, getting an eye roll in return.

"I'm almost 19 years old." Taehyung says.

"Exactly, so you should be able to control yourself and not look in the stockings, plus you're in front of the TV."

He smacks his teeth and sighs as he goes to sit on the couch with his father, immediately becoming interested when he realizes that he's watching 'Dr. Who'.

They're halfway through an episode when Mr. Kim glances at him and clears his throat.

"What are you planning on doing today? I know you're not gonna sit in the house all day."

"That was the plan." Taehyung replies, his eyes still watching the TV.

Mr. Kim leans over from his side of the couch and taps his kid on the head with the remote, causing him to dramatically rub his head and look at his father in confusion.

"Dad. Why?"

"Because you're 18 and don't have plans, you should get out of the house. You're telling me you have absolutely no plans with anyone?"

Taehyung continues rubbing his head and looking at his father. He caught the tone his dad had when he said anyone and knows exactly what his father is getting at.

He's just being nosy and wants to talk about Maddie.

"I mean I wanted to take Maddie out but I couldn't find anything to do, but that doesn't matter I'm gonna see her tomorrow."

"Well if you want to see her today then you should. The skating rink is open tonight and they're having a light show near Tenney from 8:30 until 12 you should go."

"Why do you want me out of the house so bad? I just came back home. Don't you miss your favorite son?" Taehyung asks as he side eyes his father.

"You're my only son Taehyung, my only child at that." Mr. Kim rebuttals, chuckling at the small smile on his son's face. "I just think it would be nice if today you and a friend went to do something fun."

Taehyung thinks in his head as he listens to his father. He hasn't seen Maddie in 2 days and it is Christmas Eve after all. Plus what his father suggested doesn't sound like too bad of a time. He grabs his phone out of his pocket and immediately goes to text her.

I'm gonna pick you up at 6 tonight

She hearts the message and Taehyung checks the time before he puts his phone away, it's only 1pm right now so he has more than enough to chill and spend time with his family. He goes back to watching TV with a small smile on his face as his dad stares at him, grinning at his son.
