Slipping a hoodie over his white beater, Taehyung walks over to his desk and sprays a little more cologne on his body. He sprays his neck, wrists, and chest and sets his cologne back down to fix his hair. It's a bit grown out, but Maddie likes playing in it when it's longer so he doesn't mind.

Checking the time, he notices he has about 10 minutes to spare before he has to go pick up Maddie and decides to go into the living room. He steps out and looks at Jimin on the couch watching TV, he glances over and is pretty mute compared to his usual self.

"You okay?" Taehyung asks as he sits down.

"Sure," Jimin says.

Taehyung internally frowns at the comment as Jimin goes back to watching TV. "Do you wanna talk about it?"

Jimin glances over and sighs. "I don't wanna bum you out before your first date with Maddie."

"It's completely fine Jimin, just tell me what's going on."

"Aaliyah and I had our first fight today. It's just over something so stupid. And it's just pissing me off even because I miss her and she doesn't wanna talk to me." Jimin says, covering his face.

"You know how on Thanksgiving she met my parents?" Taehyung nods as Jimin continues. "Well, I wanted to meet hers for the holidays and she doesn't want me to because 'she knows how they're gonna act'."

"But I could care less, I want to meet them anyway. This is her family. These are people she cares about and loves and I wanna get to know them too. I kept telling her I'd remain cordial regardless of what they said. I get she's trying to protect me but I'm gonna be fine."

"When she says that she 'knows how they're gonna act' what does she mean exactly?"

"That they're just super protective over her and the fact that she's dating outside of her race makes them question my relationship with her. On top of that, she's a freshman and I'm a sophomore so nothing is really in my favor."

The younger man nods as he listens. He gets where Aaliyah is coming from completely, having to choose between a romantic partner or family is probably extremely challenging, especially when your family is the one in the wrong. If he was in this situation he'd probably be acting like her as well.

But Jimin is Jimin, he's not gonna take what they say personally, if anything he'll just say they're just ignorant and move on. He'd do it for the sake of pleasing her.

But the fact that she thinks it's a bad idea is what's making him take it personally.

"So are you guys spending the break together after Christmas then? There's still a whole week left when it's over."

"She told me that we shouldn't spend it together at all, but I don't wanna do that. I'm not gonna fucking do that." Jimin says, crossing his arms as he looks at the TV. "And I know for a fact some of this animosity is from the fact that they lost their first game last night."

The girls basketball team now has a 9-1 score. To the everyday student that may not seem so bad, but Aaliyah is disappointed. Had she made the 3 pointer they wouldn't have lost the game.

Her team told her not to worry and that it happens, it's not her fault, but she doesn't care. Being a student athlete is more pressure than you'd think, especially when you lose the most hyped up game of the season. She cried for an hour after they got home and Jimin tried his best to comfort her.
