Being friends their entire adolescence and now going to college, they find theirselves in an odd situation with one another.
How hard is it to get over an unrequited crush?

It's currently mid-July and the hottest day of summer. While the teens would usually be doing something fun, one of them has something else in mind.....
"Tae cut it out!" Madeline yells as he chases her around the yard with a hose.
"What? You thought all those rides to get some food were free?" He snickers as he runs even faster toward her.
"Don't spray! I'm innocent!" she yells while running away from him.
"You're asking for this by running away!" He shouts as he finally gets close enough to spray her all over, drenching her in the process.
"What are y'all doing?" Maddie's cousin Ziora yells from the porch looking concerned.
"We were, but Taehyung thinks he's funny." Maddie says shaking the water off her braids.
"I'm actually hilarious." he says smugly.
Ziora laughs as Maddie rolls her eyes at Taehyungs comment and walks back inside. The pair talk and joke while washing the car and eventually finish after an hour.
They both go inside to grab a quick snack then walk to the linen closet to grab towels. Both are wet from washing the car and just decide to chill in her room until they're dry.
Taehyung looks at Maddie while she sits on the bed watching tiktoks. Admiring each feature on her face and how graceful she looks doing something so simple.
From her hair to her lips, he thinks everything about her is beautiful.
He can't help but think how glad he is that he met her and could become extremely close with a person like her. Maddie and Taehyung have been best friends since middle school. Ever since then, they have been inseparable and now they're going to college together.
Seems like the perfect setup.
"Tae?" She says as she puts down her phone and crawls toward him on the edge of the bed.
"Yes Maddie?" and before he can react...
Maddie throws her wet towel in his face.
He dramatically falls off the edge of the bed.
"Oh shit! My bad Tae-" she says with sincerity until she cuts herself off, cackling at him falling.
He pulls her down with him on the floor and pulls her into a hug as they're laughing uncontrollably about it.
They sit up and look at each other. Waiting for someone to say something.
Instead, Taehyung leans up against the bed and pulls Maddie on his lap, so they can be even closer. She brushes his wavy hair out of his face and gives him a soft smile.
Maddie comes closer and Taehyung becomes more flustered than he already was. Both of their hearts beating rapidly in their chests and forgetting how to breathe.
He grabs her face and their lips brush against each other.
Both wanting more, they're about to lean in just until they hear a voice.
"Our food is here!" Ziora yells from downstairs.
They both quickly stand up and there's a moment of silence. They look at each other once more as if they wanna say something, but ultimately decide to head downstairs.
They go downstairs and eat dinner as if nothing just happened. They don't even mention it again for the entire summer.
They were just in the moment...
Right?
