********************

Sam, in pain and not knowing what to do, throws a stone with everything he's got. It glows white and disappears, leaving a white slit in space—a tiny breach. He can't believe what is happening—only the fact that he might be in a weird dream—and decides to walk towards the light. He reaches for the light, forces his middle and ring fingers from both his hands into it, and pulls the slit apart until it is large enough to use his full hands. With the slit torn apart into a rounder shape, he sticks his head through the light.

*What the!?!?*

He sees a man sitting at his desk and working.

*From behind he kinda looks like me!?*

The breach pulls him in and drags him to the ground just as he pushes himself through.

It closes in an instant.

*Ok, it feels too real to be a dream, or a weird one at this point. Is this some kind of time-travel thing? No, it can’t be! He looks like me, but he can't really look like me, like, completely?! This would mean I am in some kind of future because I'm already growing my hair to start some dreads, and this one has it, much longer than a starter locks. This one has his scalp full of it. I just wanted it on top, but not completely. Is he really me? Or is this something like an alternate reality? It was always just my theory!*

The man sitting at the desk pushes back his chair and stands up. He speaks with his back facing Sam. *Finally! Finally, you got it, man!*

**Ummmm, my voice?**

*Hey, you might not have recognized it yet, but you keep talking outside your head.* He sighs loudly and continues, *You've gotta learn to talk inside this baby here, our weapon!* He points to his head and knocks on his scalp while still facing his desk.

There is an awkward silence before Sam feels the pain he has been feeling before. He screams while pushing in his eyes.

*Yoooo. Chill, brother! Stop being nervous; it might make it more painful. Right now, it seems you are fighting against what is within you; it’s all about giving in and receiving. Just let go of control and make it flow through your entire body!*

**Shut up! How, for hell's sake, would you know what is wrong with me? You can never imagine what I'm feeling right now. Arrghh, the pain!!**

The man turns around and squats to look less dominant to Sam. He explains, *I might know what you are going through right now. A few of us have been through this before. Our Tomie is special, especially yours! I haven’t sensed anything like this before.*

**What do you mea...**

*Quiet! Wow, it did work! We finally managed to awaken your spirit. You should be our number one!*

Sam calms down and concentrates. He lets go of every control he has been holding on to. He whispers, *It worked! I feel better now, puhh*

He lays back and looks at the ceiling as he says, *Thank you!*

They enjoy a short moment of absolute silence.

*What the hell do you mean by alternate reality?* Sam asks.

**I never said a word about an alternate reality. It was all your saying, but you are right. It does exist and right now, you are in it.**

Sam's eyes widen.

*Are you saying that I am not dreaming at all? All-alternate reality!?!?! Wait, who the hell are you?* He turns over to look at the stranger's face.

*Wow you are for sure handsome! And you do look like me! Are you me? Wait, are you me, or am I you? Who the hell are you*
