"Shit, Sannie is ringing the group chat." Yunho spoke a little above a whisper to Mingi.

Hwa currently lay fast asleep with swollen eyes curled up into the taller, and Mingi sat staring mindlessly at the TV. He turned to look at Yunho, before looking at his own phone and seeing the pending call.

"What shall I do? Do you want me to answer? He'll still be with Woo. They don't know we're all together. I don't know what the fuck to say." He asked, rubbing his face irritably.

"Just answer it and see if he's okay. He's probably just asking to hang out. Please try keep it neutral. Remember, we aren't supposed to know anything." Yunho quipped, slightly covering Hwa's exposed ear as he spoke.

Mingi nodded, feeling sickeningly nervous but proceeding.

"Hey, bro. What's up?"

"Hey, man! Not much, I'm just chilling with Woo. Just seeing what you're on with. You with Yunho? Why isn't everyone answering?"

Stumped already seconds into the call but not wanting to raise any suspicion, Mingi collected himself and continued.

"Not sure, Sannie. Yunho said he was going to the mall earlier with Hwa, so they're both probably still out doing whatever. They'll check their phones when they see they've missed it." He responded as coolly as possible.

"Ahhh, yeah, cool. You wanna come hang with me and Woo for a little?"

Mingi despised lying to his friends. Especially to San. He had always been able to be himself around the taller, and he never held any judgement against him. Even in his most angered, untethered and irrational phases. But he couldn't find it in him to see the two just yet, having struggled all afternoon to accept what Hwa had told both he and Yunho.

"I'm not feeling too good, man. Didn't get a lot of sleep last night after the party either, it's why I didn't go out with those two earlier. I'm just having a chill day, sorry bro."

"It's no bother Min, I hope you feel better soon. Let me know if you need anything, yeah?"

Mingi winced internally as his friend believed his every word, even offering help to his made-up ailment.

"Sweet, brother. You two have a good day and I'll see you both tomorrow. Much love."

The call ended, Hwa's bedroom filling with silence besides the sleeping boys short breaths.

"That's the best you could've done, baby. I know it's awful lying. But we need to go about this carefully. This is a huge thing to know about Wooyoung against his consent, we can't treat him differently. We just need to take it easy and keep a look out for him." Yunho consoled his boyfriend, seeing the stress radiating from him.

The three needed time to learn as to how they could all deal with Wooyoung's trauma and ready themselves in the event of it coming out, which unfortunately they could not rule out the chance of happening. With how fast he and San were moving, including the conflict between the two and Seungjoon at last nights party, Wooyoung had been hard-launched into the centre of drama and public focus in a very short time.

Their biggest concern was that the student who assaulted him would make an appearance in the near future, especially with their linked school football game. Maybe Wooyoung would see him. Having to deal with that alone could send the shorter into a deep pitted spiral. What if San finds out? Or what if Wooyoung notices the call he made to Hwa and shuts everybody out of his life from fear? The possibilities were endless, and all just as equally terrifying.

San and Wooyoung, after ending their call with Mingi, had changed into their cosies and set out to do a late night grocery run for some snacks for a movie night at the shorter's. San had called his Mother to let her know he'd be staying at Wooyoung's and she had consented unproblematically.

San had earned the privilege of his parents blessings for staying out on school nights from years worth of top-class grades and academic winnings. The trust between he and his parents was sky high. That aside, with his Mother and Father frequently having to leave him alone for nights at a time and sometimes rather last minute at that, they felt more at ease knowing he was at a friends house.

Similarly but also starkly different, Wooyoung had gained his parents trust by remaining to be an excellent student despite all his hardships. He worked immensely hard to not let his surroundings get the better of him, remaining to be a wonderful and reliable son. So if now, he had finally found solace and enjoyment in San's company, they would never dream of depriving him from extra time with the taller.

So the two, in high spirits and swimming in each others comforting presence, drove in a peaceful Sunday sunset atmosphere as San connected to Wooyoung's aux and blared the cheesiest love songs known to man. The shorter tried in vain to not burst out in crippling laughter as the taller serenaded him, only to fail miserably a short time later.

"....... AND IIIIIIIIIIIIII WIIIIIIILLL ALWAAyyss- oh fuck, my voice broke. FUCK."

Just as they pulled into the grocery store parking lot, Wooyoung doubled over in his seat and let out his natural unfiltered shriek of a laugh as San listened along with a full heart. He'd only heard Wooyoung's real laugh once before, now understanding fully why it had set Hwa off. It was an infectious laugh filled with pure joy, and he loved every second of it.

"What is that laugh, and why do you hide it from me? Do you have any idea how happy it makes me to hear you laugh like that?" San asked the shorter with the largest, deepest dimpled grin on his face.

Wooyoung quietened down his banshee scream, now chuckling and hiccuping, still reeling from San's rendition/butchering of the song.

"It's so embarrassing. It's ear-bleedingly high pitched. I used to get told off my teachers in middle school for laughing too loud! I have to tone it down, I don't want you to go deaf." Wooyoung giddly remarked, holding the taller's hand as he pressed his lips to it.

"If that's the last noise I heard before losing my hearing forever, I'd accept it in half a second. You deserve to laugh like that to your hearts content, Youngie. Do it more often." He said softly, bringing the shorter's face closer for a meaningful kiss.

San adored the shimmering gleam in Wooyoung's eyes every time he received a compliment. He thoroughly believed the shorter was coming far in his willingness to trust and let people in, highly grateful that it was him granted the luck of being the one to show him how good life could truly be.

"Aish, you're going to make me blush red raw before we even get out the car. Come on, Sannie. Want snacks." Wooyoung scorned through a smile, breaking San from his happy trail of thoughts.
