After some giddy and outrageously x-rated texts between him and Wooyoung, San had made his way over to the training centre of the building to put the final training session in place.

He arrived without Hwa, his friend saying he was going to grab some forgotten kit from Mingi's car and meet him in the locker room with all three of them shortly after.

Every player entered the changing room, each one as equally as pumped and fiery as the other. Oddly last to come were his three friends, who normally reigned a much earlier arrival. He didn't think anything of it as they appeared totally fine, their normal selves and just as ecstatic to get the last training meet underway ahead of their game. San had truthfully never anticipated an off-the-record friendly so much in his life, as the games were essentially warm-ups for proper matches, but it served as an outlet for his pent up frustration against Wooyoung's bullies.

The only one of his friends he'd had a more cautious eye on for the week was Mingi. It was hard to differentiate with him whether something was wrong, as he often remained quiet no matter how he felt inside. But something just felt a little off about his friends usual bluntness.

He had tried to chalk it down to his anger toward the opposing team due to the previous weekend's antics, but San had seen Mingi be witness to homophobic behaviour countless times over their years together, and it never warranted this peculiar standoffish tone from him. He either settled it with his hands on site, or he stayed chill. Mingi had done neither for days now. Making a note to see if it continued after their inevitable win for tomorrow's match, San left the issue alone. He could always speak to Yunho about it if needs be.

A gruelling, pushed-to-the-limits training session went underway. The players worked themselves to the bone as they prepared for any possible challenge from the opposing team, crushing every obstacle they could think they'd encounter. San would take the time at the right intervals to continue psyching up his players, letting them know they were killing it and how he infinitely proud he was of their hard work and drive. They would always return as a group that they were who they were, because he was the best Captain they could ask for. Pure passion, trust and tenacity filled the field, and the session concluded on a very positive note.

As the team headed back to shower off and change, San took his own individual moment to appreciate everything he had. He was surrounded by nothing but love and support from every angle, never going without. He truly felt like the luckiest man to walk the Earth. His mind and heart filled with sweet warmth at the thought of getting home to Wooyoung, the pinacle of all rewards possible given to him by the heavens above.

Waving his team off one by one, he washed up and lingered only for a little longer to catch his closest friends before rushing off. He was sure he hadn't seen them leave, nor would they without saying goodbye, and they didn't appear to be in the shower stalls or the changing room.

San packed up his stuff, heading out of the faculty building and locking up once he'd cleared the area. He came out to the peaceful sunset glow through the air. He smiled blissfully, preparing to call Wooyoung to ask if he wanted take out picking up on his way, knowing the shorter wouldn't have ate without him no matter how late he'd get home.

He turned a corner of the building, hearing the voices he immediately recognised as his three best friends. He could pick those apart out of thousands. He didn't know why he chose to not approach them, staying still in his position on the other side of the wall next to them, but something had pulled him to do so. Especially when he realised a heated discussion was underway.

"You've seriously got to get it together, Min. This isn't about you."

What the fuck, was that Hwa? Why does he sound so angry? What the hell is going on?

"I didn't fucking say it was. It's just hard. I'm struggling, okay? Hiding shit like this from San, from Wooyoung. They're so happy. So at peace. And it could all be taken from them if that asshole resurfaces at the game. We have NO FUCKING IDEA who it is. Is it even a member of their team? Is it someone in their crowd? I'm losing my mind."

San's heartbeat quickened and an unsettling feeling swarmed his stomach. His friends were clearly not talking about Wooyoung's bullies. Something else was going on. Who didn't they know? Who was considered a threat to him and Wooyoung's relationship?

He recognised Yunho's panicked voice strike up next.

"Please babe, calm down. You've worried me all week with this. I know you're upset but we promised to let this run its course however it happens. There's nothing we can do. We've made it this far. We'll kill 'em at the game tomorrow and we won't even have to see them again, they're not in the state final matches, yeah? It'll soon be over. Wooyoung will be okay. He's tough. We have to trust that this is what he wants."

"But... what if Mingi's right?"

Hwa?

"This guy's already clearly the biggest fucking piece of scum to walk the Earth. What if he's here tomorrow and he sees Woo? He could stay quiet.. or.. he could seek him out? He could either be on the field with us and San, or he could be in the crowd with Youngie. I feel fucking sick. I thought I was doing okay, but I'm not. I need San. We need to tell him."

It took every part of San's strength to not rush and comfort his crying best friend. He and Hwa shared a total spiritual bond, and it killed him to hear his sobs. But the desperate need for him to hear more of the conversation glued him to his spot.

Yunho snapped, something that happened so rarely that it genuinely frightened every friend more than anything because of how much stress Yunho had to be under for it to happen.

"I love you both to bits, but I'm NOT FUCKING DOING THIS ON MY OWN. Hwa, you confided in Mingi and I about what you heard when Wooyoung called you that day despite knowing it wasn't your right to share it. You should've ended the call once you realised he had no idea it was happening. None the less, we rushed to your side and spent the day with you to talk about how we should proceed. Mingi, I know you took the news hard, but you've had me on edge all week not knowing if I'm going to go to sleep with you and wake up to you gone, sitting in a jail cell because you've smashed the fuck out of every Riverview student on a bid for revenge. I have kept this group, San and Woo included, together this whole fucking week. I'm TIRED. I'm hurting too. But I need you both to get your acts together for the sake of your best friend and that sweet boy that's been dealt the worst luck than any of us combined. It is not. Our. Place. If by any chance Wooyoung's safety comes to be at risk, heavy on the IF, I swear to you both, I will do nothing to stop you tearing that fucking rapist to pieces. Until then-"
