"I said I was sorry, Sannieeeee.. pleaseee? Do you want your spare pants back? Here, if it'll make you happy, take them-"
"HWA, PULL THE PANTS BACK UP FOR GOD'S SAKE."
San and Hwa had arrived in the school car park, San jumping out first to head to his trunk to retrieve a set of school trousers and shirt he always kept in the car. Before the car, it was a spare set in his school backpack. Weird? Not at all. He began bringing a spare set years ago, after San had seen Hwa find himself in food-related incidents four times in one week of befriending him.
He slapped Hwa's hands away from the grip of his waistband and started dragging the giggling sugar buzzed fairy away from the car park and into the building.
Okay, a bit of a mishap on top of a great morning, but just a blip. You're gonna have a good day, just get this idiot inside. San thought to himself, still finding the humour a little in the fun his best friend brings to his life, no matter how messy.
The two headed to the student room with 5 minutes to spare before first class, both boys returning one after another the polite greetings given from their peers on the way there and again once in the room. He clocked Mingi and Yunho sprawled out on a sofa, Hwa still in one hand, before launching the boy directly onto them.
"Hi guys, here you go. All yours. No sugar, no snacks, just water and fruit. I've had my fair share of him this morning, which I'm sure he'll fill you in on." San threw himself down on an opposing seat, letting out a long sigh.
"Hey Sannie! Seongie, our darling friend, how have you managed to exhaust our finest Senior for the day within the 10 minutes it takes to get from your house to school?" Yunho asks the vibrating human, stroking his hair out of his face.
Mingi, dealt with the other half of the starfished man on top of him, removes his feet from his face and slides down off the sofa from underneath him, crawling over to the space next to San.
"Looking forward to this year, bro?" He greets San with a fist bump.
"Yeah, definitely. Classes will be a breeze, the team layout was prepped months ago ahead of the new start of year, all is looking good." San confirmed, genuinely feeling at ease. He knew some of his surrounding students were concerned about the final year, but he honestly just could not relate. He was so used to his routine of studying, sports and maintaining a decent social life that nothing ever strayed out of place or gave him a reason to think anything was worth stressing over.
As the bell rang for first class commencing, the four rose and stretched out, saying hi and giving nods to the students that they hadn't already. Although not quite on the same level of San, the rest of the boys also upheld an excellent rapport with their other students, each one in their own way being a desired and trusted individual that others wanted to be around.
Hwa, the funny, exuberant, colourful bundle of energy. San's official right hand man. Someone who would make you laugh just the amount you needed to, even if it meant it being at his own expense. He was always eager to ensure those around him had a smile on their face and that they felt appreciated, but also loved being babied and often took up/demanded the undivided attention of his 3 best friends, insisting they 'share custody'. All in all, he was a total ride or die friend you could always count on.
Yunho, the sweetest and most helpful friend one could have. Could read a room and a person perfectly, an expert at sympathising and understanding an array of different people. The human embodiment of a sunflower and a golden retriever combined. There in a flash when you needed someone to talk to, or just someone to listen. The softest and most welcoming aura, you could often find him lending an ear to someone he met 5 minutes beforehand.
Mingi, a neutral and cool-toned man, but still the life and soul of the room if he chose to be. Incredibly loyal to his close friends and clever with his words, albeit that his honesty and "I said what I said, didn't I?" attitude had landed him in a spot of bother a few times over the years, but never anything that San couldn't help resolve. He had massively mellowed out from his tough and brazen alter-ego recently though, often opting to stay more reserved and laid back, due to an unfolding love story that brought out the best in him.
All in all, each individual complimented the other perfectly, and the four shared a completely unbreakable bond. San was grateful to have the close friends he did, and was forever proud to be someone important to them.
