“You dare!” Lisa abruptly raised his voice. His anxiety could not be concealed.

Jennie placed one foot on the balcony railing. “Do you want to find out? CEO Manoban, do you think that, just because I’m on the second floor, I won’t fall to my death?”

In fact, with her special powers, she would definitely be unharmed even if she fell from this height.

However, Lisa did not know of this.

“Don’t be mischievous. You’ll get hurt!” He frowned in worry.

He would rather suffer ten bullets than allow her to come to any harm.

“I’m going to jump now...” She continued shifting forward.

“I’ll show you!” A hint of helplessness appeared on Lisa's face. She was the only person on this earth who could make him give in.

A pleased smile appeared on her lips. She glanced outwards and noticed several students watching her curiously from the first floor.

She turned around and headed back into her room.

She took in the sight of Lisa's feet. He had taken off his shoes and his socks were actually soaked.

She considered his location and knew for certain that he had walked a lot on uneven ground. It was likely that his feet were covered in wounds and blisters, and they had stained his socks.

“Take off your socks too.” Her expression was stern.

Strangely, Lisa found her current firm attitude extremely heart-moving.

He held his phone with one hand and quickly tugged his socks aside with the other. The blisters had broken and the open wounds clung to his socks. His quick movement caused the skin to tear further as it clung onto the fabric.

Yet, he seemed to not feel any pain as his distant gaze remained fixed on her.

Time was limited and he wanted to take her in for as long as possible.

Her heart ached deeply. “The reason you refused to show me was because you were worried my heart would ache, wasn’t it? Silly...”

If anyone else had dared to use the word ‘silly’ on Lisa, they would surely have been shot to death.

Yet, when it came from her lips, he felt his heart becoming afloat and nearly melting.

He had not been worried that she would be distressed. Rather, because of her background, he felt she would not be comfortable with such a sight and was scared about frightening her.

After all, she had once hated him. How could she possibly be worried about his condition.

He never expected her to look this upset about a few blisters.

For him, this wound barely counted for anything.

If he had known, he would have rubbed a few more blisters out.

“Are you injured anywhere else?” She continued asking in concern. “Did you meet with any enemies?”

“I’m fine. I did, but it has already been settled.” He did not wish to say more about the ambush in case he caused her further worry.

“As long as you’re fine.” She felt herself relaxing slightly.

As long as he was doing well, even if he was not by her side, she felt content. “Remember to apply some medicine. Don’t let yourself come to anymore harm, alright?”

His frozen heart had long become enveloped by her warm concern. He was willing to do anything for her. “Alright.”

In this moment, he dearly wished that he owned a pair of wings and could fly to her side.

If he could set all of his responsibilities and duties aside, he would hold her tightly in his arms and never let go!

However, reality made it impossible.

“Boss, you’ve already gone past the agreed ten minutes. We have to return to the team. Otherwise, there might be danger.” Bambam appeared behind him and reported respectfully.

On the other end, Jennie heard this as well.

She did not expect that Lisa was taking risks for her sake.

She immediately said, “Quickly tend to your wounds. Remember to stay safe and come back soon!” After saying this, she ended their call first.
