Jennie coaxed him softly. "Alright, don't be jealous. There's only sibling love between my brother and I. My brother treats me very well. If I didn't have any familial feelings for him, I would really be lacking in humanity. It's not appropriate for me to help my brother change clothes. Just... have Bambam make a trip here."

Bambam had been here before. Although that guy's mouth was extremely dirty, he was absolutely loyal towards Lisa.

Lisa breathed out through his nose and did not respond.

"CEO, there is an important document for you to review."

A secretary knocked against Lisa's office door with a document.

Jennie understood he was busy and took the initiative to end the call.

She walked to the living room and took in the mess. Her right hand was injured and she did not have the intention of cleaning up the place.

She lowered her head and scrolled through her phone for a while. All the major media outlets were still reporting on Lilan's shameless act.

A lot of netizens along with her schoolmates from Jing Hua University had expressed their concern for her after seeing her mother's true character.

After all, Lilan was not only greedy. She had even slandered her for being unfilial. Most netizens felt that Kim Lilan's actions were out of character for a birth mother.

Her phone rang at that moment. It was a call from her good friend, Tzuyu.

As soon as she answered it, she heard Tzuyu's agitated voice. "Jenjen, are you alright? When I saw your lonely silhouette on television yesterday, my heart nearly died from pain!"

"My Great Missus!" Jennie laughed and said, "You've already called me three times for this matter. I'm really ok."

"Do you want me to come accompany you?"

"There's no need." She did not mention that she was at her brother's place.

Although she dearly cherished her friendship with Tzuyu, her brother had yet to be cleared of his criminal charges. It was best if fewer people were aware that he had gotten bail for medical reasons.

"Have you seen the news online?" Tzuyu spoke with conviction. "Everyone feels that Kim Lilan isn't your birth mother..."

"En."

"What does 'en' mean? Is that a yes or a no?"

"I'm... not sure." At first, she had been certain Lilan was not her birth mother.

The results from the DNA test they had done previously had already been sent to her via email. The organisation stated that Lilan had collected the original document.

When Jennie read the email, her feelings had been indescribably complex.

She explained this matter to Tzuyu.

Tzuyu was silent for a moment before she responded. "Logically speaking, the DNA results from a public organisation should be correct. Furthermore, Lisa's people have already confirmed that the results weren't altered by anyone. There's a chance that Lilan is really your mother."

"..."

"If she is actually your mother, she is really far too biased." Tzuyu declared. "She doesn't give you even a single cent and spends all her time pushing you down. She even wants to take revenge on behalf of her other daughter, Krystal. It's as though you were a child picked up from some corner. It's your greatest misfortune having her as your mother."

"It wasn't always like this." Jennie recalled the way her mother used to sincerely dote on her. "Before I turned eleven, my mother loved me deeply. Things only changed in the recent years. Tzuyu, I don't wish to talk about this anymore. But I'll keep investigating this matter."

"Alright then. Remember that I'm always on your side."

Jennie expressed her gratitude and ended the call.

She laid back on the sofa and rubbed her forehead.

Towards the end of her previous life, the way Lilan treated her had worsened. After she married into the Manoban family, Lilan had been unrelentless in the way she demanded and squeezed every bit of benefit that she could obtain from Jennie.
