She pouted. "I meant in your private life. If you have any troubles, let me remain by your side."
A hint of pain appeared in his eyes. He also wished to have her by his side forever. However...
She took in his stony expression and frowned. She sat up and shifted onto his lap. "Do you agree or not?"
"Jenjen..."
"I'm asking you a question. Will you agree or not?" Her fair little hand caressed his face.
His eyes were deeply moved but he remained silent. "..."
Jennie sized him up suspiciously. "Are you hiding something from me?"
Lisa appeared helpless as he began heavily. "There are countless people after my life. If one day, I die..."
"I'll die with you," she responded without pausing to hesitate.
His body jerked heavily in response. Emotions washed over him deeply. His frozen heart was completely rendered weak.
His eyes turned wet for a moment before he forcefully regained his composure. He coldy and heavily commanded. "Jennie, I won't allow you to do that! If I really do die, you have to remain alive!"
"I refuse!" She stubbornly shook her head.
"Be obedient!" He demanded.
"No."
A hint of ruthlessness appeared in his eyes. "If you won't listen..."
"What about it?" She asked with a smile. "Will you end your engagement with me?"
When he heard this, his heart immediately began aching.
No matter if he was dead or alive, he refused to tolerate the thought of losing her. "No!"
She sighed and pressed her little face against his firm chest. "If you want me to live well, you have to remain healthy and happy for me."
He held her tightly in his arms and pressed his head against her neck. He spoke in a slightly thickened voice. "Alright!"
For her, he would definitely remain alive and well.
...
...
The next morning, Jennie woke up in a warm and firm embrace.
She closed her eyes and felt Lisa's soft, warm breaths. The sense of security she felt moved her deeply.
She slowly opened her eyes to see Lisa's cold, handsome appearance.
His brows were defined and his nose was sharp. Every inch of his skin was perfect.
He was watching her with his ink-black pupils. The love in his gaze could not be concealed.
He had taken the opportunity while she was asleep to check on her wound and saw that it had appeared better. This allowed him to relax a little.
Jennie turned over and rested her chin on her uninjured left hand. She returned his gaze lazily. "What are you looking at?"
He gently caressed her long hair. His voice was husky from his desire and responded. "You."
"What's there for you to look at?" She casually touched the scabs on her face. "My face is so ugly. Don't you find it an eyesore?"
"You're beautiful." He did not hesitate to respond.
She pursed her lips. "You're lying."
"I don't ever praise anyone. Especially not women." He lovingly touched her face. "To me, you're really beautiful."
