A gentle breeze drifts through the leaves of the trees surrounding the building, the sound of rustling leaves joined in together as the breeze pushed through the town. The strong smell of the wisteria trees drifted through the town hanging onto the breeze as it pushed past the exiting Hashira. The weather today had been favorable today, the sun rays softly shined down on the homes and walkways.
In the large building nestled in a cluster of trees, one by one the Hashira slowly spilled out, save for three that lingered behind not too far from the home's walls. It was always a joy for the village folk to catch a sight of them, small children marveled at their sight. They were a beacon of hope to the people, that and all the other slayers that risked their lives for their safety.
Stretching out, smiling softly Shonobu raised her arms over her head, she watched as Giyu slowly began walking away with the rest of the group.
"Have you heard the rumor?" Shinobu spoke.
"Rumor?" Mitsuri tilted her head, her giant pink braids fell off her shoulder.
Lowering her hands to her side, she did not move her gaze away from Giyu as she spoke. "Yes, there was recently a rumor that was let out that Kagaya had sent out a crow to bring someone here from their original post, a new Hashira it seems."
"Oh that one!?" Mitsuri excitedly beamed, her hands clapped excitedly, "is it true? I was curious if it had just been some sort of hoax, a fluke."
Shinobu nodded softly, an amused smile now on her face. "It is correct, and Giyu, you should know this person actually. The two of you trained together as children after all."
This grabbed Giyu's, stopping his movements he turned back to the two of them, his eyebrows creased in confusion. "Nagano?"

The soft rumbling of the train's wheels echoed behind the laughter of children and countless conversations from the other denizens of the train. Mothers hush their children as they scream in joy bouncing on their seats. Off to the side, a small group of men huddle together whispering about work and their next plans for the business, mundane chit chat. Women sit a few rows back giggling into their hands as they gossip about newest stories from their hometowns, rumors from neighboring cities; anything to help pass the time.
Tuning out the conversations around her, she props her head on her hand while gazing out the window at the rushing landscape that flies past them. The once large landscape of the southern homes now had turned into lush large forests, familiar scents of once home were coming back to her. Familiar mountain ranges beyond the forests blurred along with them, not too long now until she would be back now.
Originally Nagano had been stationed down south, with it being so far from human population the amount of demons had been exponentially low as well. Be that as it may, down in the small rural town she had stayed, there hadn't been any to watch over them, as rare as they were they sadly still suffered from the occasional demon attack. With no one there to protect them, the demons would grow cocky and soon wipe out villages one by one.
Life down there had been dreadfully boring, the country folk were kind and incredibly considerate; but only hunting demons at the most once a week was causing her to lose her mind. She was ecstatic to see the crow when it had made its way over to her, hopeful for a mission elsewhere, perhaps to be swapped out with someone else.
