a/n: Meant to post this last night, oopsies, welp, hope you enjoy!

It tasted like bile, almost rotten. Feeling the sickening taste roll down her throat and into her body she felt every bit of her body try to fight it, fighting off an unknown enemy believing it to be a sickness. But the power of the blood itself was much like a parasite, learning quickly to latch onto any and all portions of her inner system, enveloping blood cells and muscles, anything the slimming blood could get its hands on. After that point, no matter how hard the body worked to fight it off, there was too much already tainted. A losing battle.

As she felt her world darken around her, she had felt the previously snapped bones in her body crack back together painfully, though no voice came out of her mouth as the demon blood did its work. There had been an intense tingling sensation that snaked throughout her body as well the longer her body took in the poison, like a thousand needles pin pricking each and every nerve in her body. Constantly poking and prodding, twisting and burning. She wondered if she'd still be herself after the change. Or would she be consumed by the animalistic hunger and bloodlust that she had seen in other demons she had fought in her career. She desperately hoped not.

With the last bit of vision she had left, she craned her head to the other side of the room. Standing stiffly, with eyes wide and veins pulsing on his forehead straining, Akaza watched her with wide eyes. Eyes filled with what seemed like horror? Why right did he have to feel that way? It was him who sold her out. Surely? How else could they have known about her, yet part of her deep down pushed that there was some other reason. Something else. With that same desperation, she willed her hand to move and stretch out reaching towards him, her arm shaking violently as the transformation quickly began its process of taking over the host. As much as she wanted to hate him, deep down with that very same desperation, she desperately wanted him to help her, to make the pain stop, make all of this stop. To take her away and back to the safety of the corp.

Speaking just barely over a whisper through her gritting teeth, she pleaded, "Akaza, help me. Please."

And then the world around her went silent.

Silent and just pure darkness.

The sensation had felt relatively close to how it had felt when she had slowly been dying.

Though here, while mostly the same, it wasn't entirely alike. She had full control over her movements, she could feel, and hear; everything she couldn't back then. Looking down, she noticed she had been standing as well, though on what she couldn't tell. By the look of the thick ripples that spread out from her, it had seemed like she had been standing on an endless viscous deep red sea, yet solid enough for her to stand on as if it was fully solid ground. Leaning down, she reached out to dip her fingers into the liquid, there had been no resistance as her hand slowly sank into the warm liquid. If her hand could freely enter the liquid like normal water, then why hadn't she started sinking? Standing back up, she looked around. The only sound that she had heard in whatever space she had been in were the sounds of her feet as they made contact with whatever solid space lay beneath her. Where am I anyhow? She thought to herself. Inside her own subconscious? Granted she had been in the same scenario when she slowly bled out, but this wasn't the same as before. So surely it couldn't be the same place.

"Hello?" She loudly called out, the only response to her question had been the repeating echo of her voice until it faded away. Was she alone then?

"Hungry.." A grinding voice boomed loudly throughout the expanse, everywhere and yet nowhere. Nagano halted, her eyes wide as she glanced around her. So she wasn't alone after all then.

"Who's out there?" She called out in reply.

"So.. Hungry." The voice continued in a pained voice, "I can't stop it, the pain."
