a/n: Sorry for the long wait for this next chapter, life got busy and I needed a small break from writing, especially while I plan out the last bit of chapters since we are regrettably reaching the end soon of this fic :) I appreciate all of your patients and I hope you enjoy the remaining bit of this fic!

Was he truly that psychotic?

To think so highly of himself that he truly thought she would go along with his offer. To walk by his side and learn how to channel this ice through the way he knew how. To create another version of himself? Nagano scowled at the empty space where he had just stood for several minutes. The audacity of it all. To know that she hated him so deeply only to continue pushing thinking she'd happily go along with it, that his offer might be tempting enough. Her jaw tightened in her anger. Nagano knew very well that even as she was being a demon, she'd never be able to kill him, but oh how she hoped he would soon come across someone that would tear him limb and limb, make him feel small and eviscerate him until there would be nothing left. He deserved that much. That much was clear. There had been no regret in his eyes, he marveled at the power he held over mortal kind, how weak they were compared to him. How large it had made him feel. In those iridescent eyes of his, there was not an ounce of empathy towards the people that suffered by his hands, a lack of care when it came to harming those around him. Someone like him would have a fate worse than death coming to him. And oh how she hoped for it, hoped to see it in the end if fate would allow.

Pushing her angry thoughts aside, Nagano reached for the sheath of her sword and rested it gently on her cross legged lap. Gently caressing the leathered sheath with her hand Nagano let out a slow and deep breath. An idea of how she could control her newfound apparent ability without leaning towards Doma's offer slid into her mind. One that would mock the very attempt of his proposal. A final answer. An answer that she could be happy with, one that kept to the traditions she had all her life, one she would never dare to be rid of even in this form.

She could turn the ice she felt in that moment before death into a breathing style, something of her own creation.

Others had done it before. So why couldn't she?

Nagano's eyebrows knitted together tightly in thought.

As much as the idea delighted her. There was one small issue.

How?

No one ever talked about their method as to how they created their form, they simply used it. Back then she had assumed it was personal to them, so she never asked. Though back then, she only knew water breathing, so there would be no reason as to why she would need to ask. Or to know if that was even their reasoning. Perhaps they did wish to share, but no one dared to ask. There was way she could ask them at this point either, she was stuck inside of the Infinity Castle. Disallowed from leaving unless Muzan allowed the Biwa woman to let her leave. And there was no way in hell he'd allow that. The Biwa woman had been stern enough with her words to implicate how he had felt in the matter. Even if he allowed it, waltzing up to any of the other Pillars that weren't Giyu would be a grave mistake. In their eyes, she was dead. So to see her not only alive, but taken the form of an upper rank demon, they'd kill her faster than she'd be able to speak. Surviving the talk with Giyu had happened purely out of luck, if it had been anyone else...

She shook her head.

Dwelling on the frustrations and complications of the matter wasn't going to help her in the slightest.

Surely there was a starting point for every breathing style, something that connected the original creator to said style. Their inner self perhaps? Nagano chewed the inner part of her cheek, it wouldn't hurt to try to meditate. Perhaps within her meditation, she'd be able to tap into the ice and shape it that way?
