c/w: little bit of a gore warning, though not too intense.
It hadn't been too much longer after their farewell that the world around them spun, plucking them away from the village that they had just scoured. A familiar feeling. They had been brought back to the Infinity Castle. A part of Nagano clenched with worry as they returned back, the fear that they were being forced to return because the worst had come to pass. At some point during their conversation, Muzan had been listening in and watched as she spoke lightly to what should be her enemy. On top of that, allowing them to walk away as if nothing was wrong, or that she hadn't tried to find any bit of information about Nezuko or even try to kill either of them. Her throat tightened further at the thought as her anxiety began to rise higher and higher, nearly bursting as her feet made contact with the wooden walkways and once again she was surrounded by the never ending rooms and walkways that twisted in all directions. Perhaps he was able to tell what she had mouthed to them, that it wasn't just sight or hearing he got from them, but everything. That with his blood inside of her he could enter her mind and act as if he felt and saw everything.
She felt a hand grab ahold of her wrist causing her head to whirl to the side, eyes widened and teeth bared. In that brief instance, Nagano had felt like a cornered animal, ready to pounce and lash out at anything that tried to fight her or get near. It had taken every ounce of her inner will to reel in the animalistic nature and calm her mind, she would need to learn to better control the damn thing. Plus, the last thing that she wanted was to lash out at Akaza. He had meant no harm, she knew based on the look on his face he had only been concerned, wanting to help. Had she been that obvious? Oh how she prayed she wasn't that obvious.
"Calm down," Akaza let out in a low whisper as the platform they stood on began to descend with intense speed, which she realized didn't seem to mess with their balance, as if the gravity in this place had a different effect on them. After waiting for her to calm down, he continued, "If you react horribly, he'll assume something is up. Never appear in front of him as if you've done something wrong."
"But technically we have," Nagano whispered.
"Yes, but currently we have no idea that he knows. It's best to keep it that way," His grip tightened on her.
The two of them looked to where he held, the closeness his hand had been to hers. With blinding speed, Akaza quickly pulled his hand away and looked in a different direction. Tilting her head, Nagano attempted to catch the glimpse of what expression had been on his face. Had it been embarrassment? Akaza? Embarrassed?
When he wouldn't return his gaze to her, she turned hers back to the front of them. The neverending rooms and walkways blurred past them with an intense speed, and if what she had seen in a brief instance was correct, a cluster of a pair of eyes gleaming in the darkness. She hadn't sensed any bit of power in that brief moment, so surely it wasn't any of the other remaining upper moons; so perhaps other demons? Could this be where they had all gone? In their days of constant travel during the night, not once had they run into a single demon, not even near the larger populated towns. Where once she might have run into three or four in the night during her long traveled missions, then it had been the opposite. A ghost town of an area, not a singular demon in sight. Nagano wondered then if that was what life had been before the demons came, calm and quiet nights, families safely asleep in their beds unafraid of the beasts in the night. Could the future be the same? Would she even be a part of that said future? Her thoughts turned back to the offer Giyu had made to her before he left, the possibility of returning back to her old form. To become human again.
"Jump," Akaza's voice spoke sharply.
"Huh?" Nagano turned her head.
"Now," he narrowed his gaze.
