I look up at the clock in the centre of the room and realise the lesson is nearly over. Well that went quicker than I'd anticipated. I let out a sigh and start mentally preparing myself for my next lesson. History. As much as I love history, the teacher is the biggest dickhead you will ever have the displeasure of meeting. Being the fourth child in your family, as I've learned, tends to lead some teachers to have a bias towards you. Even if your family is the most powerful family in the pack. Like I said before, my brother's are quite something.

Unfortunately, Lindsay isn't in my class, but our other friend Fleur is. However, our teacher seated us apart, knowing that we wouldn't get much work done if she hadn't. Fleur's the daughter of the Gamma (my father's third in command). Her curly auburn hair fell just below her shoulders, which is currently tied up in a pony tail. She's small for a wolf, standing at about 5'4" but she's lean and she's quick. She's a good fighter, much like her father. She's also one of the prettiest girls in the pack. Lindsay and I have been friends with her since our first day at school. Unlike our parents, Fleur's parents were extremely protective of her, so she wasn't able to do as much as the rest of us. I'm surprised I didn't see her at training this morning. She was their only girl, so it's understandable my father is, well, was the same with me until my mother died. She was barely allowed to meet us outside of school.

As I get lost in my thoughts, the bell rings. I pack my things away into my bag as the teacher, Mrs Hawkins, talks. I haven't been paying attention to what she's been saying for the last ten minutes, so I'm not exactly sure what's she's rambling on about. I pull my bag over my shoulder and start filing out of the room with the rest of my class. I don't have much time before the next bell rings. I have to put my Math work in my locker and get my history work and make it across the campus. It's not going to happen. I resign myself to the fact that I'll be turning up to history late and make my way down the hallways that were now filled with students. I open my locker and switch my math textbooks and switch them for my history ones.

The bell rings and I sigh. Great. I'm going to be so late. I soon the hallways start empty as I make my way across the campus. I'm not even halfway yet. I'm stopped in my tracks when Odette becomes alert. I can't hear what she's saying, but I soon find figure it out when the most amazing smell I have ever smelled hits my nose. Pine and cedarwood. Oh my goddess it's the most captivating smell I have ever smelled. It makes my mouth water. What's gotten into me?

"MATE! MATE! MATE!" Odette screams in my head.

I did the only thing I could think of. I bolted.

I ran. I ran as fast as I could. I couldn't do this.

"Mate!" My wolf, Odette, screamed in my head.

Her tail wagging, jumping around in pure excitement. Her mate was chasing her and she was loving it. I, on the other hand, was gasping for air as I sprinted away. Pushing myself to run even faster when I notice he was catching up to me without much effort at all on his part. Everything stopped when I felt two strong arms wrap around my waist, sparks erupting everywhere our skin came into contact.

"Where do you think you're going, love? As much as I love the chase, I'd prefer you didn't run from me." He whispered huskily, burying his face in the crook of my neck. His scent was suffocating me, but it felt good. "What's your name?" He asked.

Oh my, his voice is heavenly. I almost lose myself in the moment but I steel myself and start struggling, trying to get out of his grip. It earned a growl from him and his grip on my waist tightens. I had to fight back a moan that threatened to escape.

"I asked you a question, love." He said.

I just about managed to turn around in his arms, my eyes meeting his. Oh goddess. His eyes are the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. They were piercing grey and held authority in them. He must be one of the Alpha's that Hunter told me about this morning. His eyes flickered between that beautiful grey colour and black. I knew he was fighting his wolf for control. I need to get away, but I can't bring myself to break eye contact with him. I could stare into those beautiful eyes forever.
