So, I've been sat here on Henry's lap while he talks me through some of the work he's been doing. It's quite fascinating. The amount of information the monarch gets about packs is quite astonishing and surprising. It seems like Alpha's have free reign over their packs, but they really don't. It's good because it doesn't give one person too much power.
"We've decided that we're going to implement something, but we wanted to get your opinion on it before we take any actions on anything. Since you're our Queen, you get a say on it too. We're aiming for packs to treat their Omegas fairer. Our father put some things in place to protect them, but it doesn't seem to be working in some packs."
"How were you looking to go about it?"
"A lot of packs treat them like the scum of the earth. They barely feed them and work them until they pass out on the floor, then they're killed for disobedience. The labour is killing off their wolves and weakening them. As the monarchs, we can feel it. There's an imbalance. We were going to go around the packs and assess things first, we haven't done a tour of packs since we came to the throne, and they were announced visits. It gives them time to prepare."
"I've heard about that in some packs, I got the feeling that there was something going on with our neighbouring pack back at Moonlit Crest. There was a girl in our school who looked quite and got bullied relentlessly by their future Alpha and his posse. It never sit right with me. What would happen if you find anything untoward?"
"We were going to punish the Alpha and anyone who took part in their abuse, and give them the option of coming here to recover and strengthen themselves. If they decide to stay after that, they're more than welcome, but if they want to go back to their home pack, then they are also welcome. The punishment will differ with the degree of severity. We can make an order that they have to follow, we can put sanctions on their packs, and even strip their leaders of their titles, and replace them with someone else."
I nod, taking in the information. "I like it. The thought of people suffering makes me feel physically ill. I'm on board with it. Can I do the visits with you guys?" I ask.
He nods reluctantly. "We don't want to put you in any danger, but it could mask as a cover for our presence in the packs. I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea, but as long as you're with one of us, you'll be okay." He says, kissing me softly.
I roll my eyes. "Henry, I'll be fine." I chuckle. "I doubt Oliver would tell you, but I outrun him earlier." I smirk.
Henry laughs, loudly, his whole body shaking. "Oh goddess. I bet he was butthurt."
"I think his words were 'What the fuck was that?' when he finally caught up to me." I chuckle.
"That's brilliant. Absolutely brilliant." He chuckles.
I glance over at the clock and almost audibly gasp. I know Henry could feel the shift in my mood through the bond. Lindsay will be here in minutes. I need to get ready.
"Shit, I've got to get ready. Lindsay's going to be here in a couple of minutes. You're mine tonight, so I'll see you later." I say, giving him a quick kiss. I get out of his grip, heading for the door.
"Okay, Sweetheart. I'll see you later. Mindlink one of us if you need us."
I nod, turning to give him a smile. I step forwards and fall over the coffee table in the middle of the room. In milliseconds, Henry is by my side, checking me for any injuries. Thankfully, the only injury is to my ego.
"Are you okay, Sweetheart?" He asks worriedly.
"I'm fine, Henry." I reassure him. "I've got to go and get changed. I'll see you later." I say and he lets go of me, placing a kiss on the top of my head. As I head out of the door, I hear him chuckle to himself.
