Chapter 7 - I'm Sorry, I forgot

Theo led me back inside, the guards were carrying the bags of shopping in from the car. We walked into the lounge and sat down on the sofa.

"Thank you for letting us use your card, Theo. I didn't intend to get that much, but I couldn't stop Aria. She was relentless." I said as he smiled. His eyes glistened when I called him Theo. It was adorable.

"Don't worry about it. I know what she's like." He chuckled. "I knew what I was doing when I gave it to her. Besides, you deserve to be treated." I couldn't help the blush that warmed my cheeks.

"I heard what Cassie did this morning. I'm so sorry, Inez." He said. I couldn't help but feel the pang of jealousy that hit me at his words. 

"It's okay, as long as whatever you had with her is over. I can't criticize you for not waiting for your mate, because I didn't either. I went through a really bad period after my mother died. I got drunk a lot and I slept around." There was a flash of jealousy and hurt in his eyes, but it was quickly masked. "I'm sorry."

"Don't worry about it. It's in the past. I'm all yours, Inez." He said, pulling me into a hug. His face immediately went to my neck, taking in my scent to comfort his wolf.

"I forgot to mention this morning, I'm taking you out to dinner tonight. We're leaving at 7." He said and I pushed him away in shock.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I shrieked. "It's almost half five! I need to get ready."

"I'm sorry, I forgot." He said, putting his hands up in defence. "Wear something fancy, it's a nice restaurant. I'm going to be wearing a suit." He said and I pull my phone out ready to call Aria to help me get ready. She answered after two rings.

"Hey, I need your help. Theo's only just told me he's taking me out to dinner tonight. I need to be ready by seven." I say to her as I walk out of the room, grabbing some of the shopping bags.

"That asshole! I'll be right over. Go and have a shower and we can go from there." She said.

"Okay. I'll be in Henry's room." I said as I walked up the grand staircase. I make my way down the hallways and get to Henry's room. I could tell he hadn't been here since this morning, his scent was lingering, but it wasn't as strong as it was this morning. I put the bags down and head over to the shower. I get the shower running and grabbed some underwear. I stepped under once I stripped my clothes. Since I washed my hair this morning, I left it and just washed my body. Now the shock has worn off, the excitement and the nervousness crept in.

"Don't be nervous, Inni, mate loves us." Odette said.

"I know Odette, I can't help it. This is our first date with Theo." I said.

"I'm just happy that you're giving mate a chance. Maybe we can go for a run afterwards?" She said.

"I know you are and no, we can't. We can't risk them finding out about us. It's too dangerous." 

"Stupid human. They need to know. We can't hide this from them. They'll protect us." She said and I mentally sighed. I know she's right. They'll have to find out eventually.

"I know, I know. I guess we should tell them as one. It's not fair for one to find out before the others." I say and she nodded in agreement.

I hear the bedroom door open, so I shut the shower off and wrap my body in a towel and start to dry myself off. I put my underwear on and wrap myself in the robe that Aria and I bought today. I exit the bathroom and I'm met with a grinning Aria. 

"Come on, we've got a lot to do. Have you thought about what you're going to wear? Did he say where he was going to take you?" She asked.

"Yeah, I think I'm going to wear that silky black dress and the silver heels that we bought today. I've also folded the clothes you let me borrow, I'll have them washed and returned to you. Thank you for letting me borrow them." She nodded and ushered me to sit down on a chair that she'd pulled in front of the mirror.

"It's no problem. You're basically my sister now." She chirped. "So, I was thinking about letting your hair down and curling it softly and some basic makeup to go with it. Nothing over the top. Something simple, but elegant." She said and I agreed. I didn't want anything over the top.

"That sounds perfect." I say, grinning at her in the mirror. 

She got to work and about an hour and a half later we were almost done. I looked at myself in the reflection and smiled. It was perfect. Some subtle foundation, blush and a little contour went a long way. She used a silver shimmer on my eyes and drew a cat eye. She sprayed my hair with some hairspray and fluffed it up a little.

"Thank you so much. This means a lot. You've done an amazing job!" I say, turning to her.

"It's fine. I really enjoy it... much like you're going to enjoy your date tonight. Come on, get into that dress. Let me see!" She said, shoving the bags in my hands and I chuckle. I get changed in the bathroom, careful not to ruin my hair and makeup, and then slip my shoes on. I step out and Aria gasps. 

"You look absolutely stunning! Theo's not going to be able to keep his eyes off of you." She squealed in excitement. I blush at her words and check the time. We had twenty minutes to spare and I sigh in relief. That was close. 

We sit and chat for a couple of minutes before there was a knock at the door before Theo stepped in. His eyes immediately landed on me, and I suddenly went a little shy. He looked dashing. His hair was neatly styled and he was wearing a black suit and dress shoes. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He made his way over to me and took my hand, bringing it to his lips, kissing it softly. I almost moaned as the sparks erupted everywhere he touched. 

"You look absolutely beautiful, Darling." he said, grinning. I felt my cheeks and the tips of my ears burning.

"Thank you, you don't look so bad yourself." I said as he pulled something out of his pocket. 

"These are for you." He said as he opened the small box to reveal a pair of diamond earrings.

I gasp and put my hand on the box and look up at Theo.

"Thank you, I can't accept them" I said. Theo frowned and his eyes met mine.

"Darling, I bought them for you. You're my mate, my Queen and you will eventually be my wife. I only want the best for you and you deserve to be treated like the Queen you are and will be. Please take them Darling." I look up at him and bite my lip.

"Thank you so much, Theo. They're absolutely beautiful." I say, wrapping my arms around his waist. I pull back after a couple of seconds and take the box in my hands, pulling the earrings out and putting them in. I turn to look in the mirror and smile.

"They look even better on you, Darling." He whispered, placing his hands on my waist. "Shall we head off? Our reservation is for half seven." 

I nod and look over at Aria, who was grinning like the cheshire cat. "I'll see you later, Aria. Thank you for your help."

"Have a good date, Inez. Don't have too much fun." She said with a wink.
