Theo guides me around town, pointing at the different monuments and buildings. The main street is edged with quaint bookshops, cafes, small boutiques, bakers, and a florist. It's centred around a charming town square, with flower beds, iron benches and a well crafted fountain in the centre. The fountain has a statue of a wolf howling in the centre, with water spouting from its mouth. The street is also lined with large, decadent streetlamps with hanging baskets filled with flowers. It's utterly breath taking. It feels like a dream. There's wisteria and ivy growing over the buildings. It adds character and charm to them. I've never seen something so beautiful.
Over the town stands an old castle. It looks seriously imposing towering over the town, but I think it adds to the striking beauty of it. It's one of the homes of the Royals, their parents were living there along with some of their siblings, but the triplets primary residence is where we are currently living. It was closer to the packhouse and made it easier for them to manage the pack. So, their reasoning ultimately made sense.
The town is run by the pack members. He explained that the pack members are given a choice in what they do. When a wolf turns sixteen they are given a choice. They can work within the pack, or they can work in the town. The pack options are: Warrior, Patrol, Guard, Cook, Cleaner, Pack Doctor or Nurse, and Educators. Then, outside the pack the options are endless, but the majority of the businesses are owned by the Crown, so all revenue goes back into the pack. The pack members are paid extremely well, and are welcome to a room and all meals in the pack house if they choose to. It's a well thought out system and it's clear that the pack members are thriving.
Even though it was a predominantly werewolf town, some humans do wander into the town, some even settling down there. It was strange to see humans and werewolves lives so intertwined. We're always taught to lead separate lives and stay away from the humans. It'll take some time to get used to the idea, but it was extremely refreshing. It also brings in extra revenue to the town, which gets funnelled back into the pack.
We walk past the shops, until we get to the florist. Theo stops us and disappears into the florist after telling me to wait outside. I bite my lip in anticipation as time ticks away, until he remerges with a stunning bouquet of flowers. I grin at him and take the flowers. There were daisies and eucalyptus leaves packed between soft coloured roses, ranging from yellow to pink.
"Theo, thank you so much. They're beautiful." I say, admiring the flowers. He wraps his arm around my waist and I look up at him with a smile. I stand on my tiptoes and place a soft kiss on his lips. I can feel some of the pack members staring at us. Watching one of their Alpha's with their Luna. I haven't been introduced to them, but they know who I am.
"You deserve them. Come on, let's head back." He says, and we start heading in the direction of Theo's car. We walk back in silence, not being able to wipe this smile from my face. The events of the morning completely overshadowed by the care and attention this man is showing me. It's exactly what Odette and I need. We get to his car, and he opens the door for me. I smile and get in, putting my seatbelt on as he closes the door. He jogs around to the other side and gets into the driver's seat.
"Thank you so much, Theo. Odette and I really needed this."
"You don't have to thank me, Darling. I love seeing you smile." He says, looking over at me. I lean over and kiss him briefly, but pour all of my emotions into the kiss. I pull away and he grins. "You're making it hard for me to want to share you when you kiss me like that." He admits and I chuckle. My heart was racing.
"Well, you've got me for the rest of the day and tonight. I'm all yours." I beam.
"When you say it like that..." He smirks, starting the car.
I giggle softly and hide behind the flowers. My mind has been going wild with ways that he could please me. I wipe the thoughts from my mind and glance over at him. He looks like a god. He catches me studying his features and a smirk creeps onto his face.
"See something you like, Darling?" He asks, his focus shifting back to the road. I could hear the smirk in his voice.
"Hmm, you look good in a suit." I blurted. My cheeks burn red when I realise what I just said. Oh goddess.
"Why thank you, Darling." He lets out a throaty chuckle, and moves a hand to rest on my thigh. That... was not helping. I place my hand on top of his, lacing my fingers between his. I couldn't ignore the sparks emanating from our touch. They were vibrating through my body. It's something I could never get sick of, and nor do I want to. My heart goes out to the humans that will never get to experience anything like this. They feel attraction and love, sure, but not on this scale.
The drive back to the house was silent, but it was a comfortable silence. We were enjoying each other's presence. We didn't need words. Theo comes to a stop outside the house and gets out of the car, rushing to my door to open it for me. He takes the bouquet of flowers from me and offers me his other hand. I take it without hesitating and get up out of the car. I give him a small smile and straighten my outfit. We head inside and I take the bouquet of flowers from him.
I disappear into the kitchen and run the water in the sink, standing the flowers in the water. I hear Theo step into the kitchen.
"Do you have any vases that I can use for the flowers?" I ask, turning to look at his figure that was leaning against the door frame. Okay, that's quite hot. The sight had Odette purring in my head.
"There's hundreds laying around, I'll go and grab you one now." He smiled, pushing off the door frame. He disappeared for a couple of minutes before returning with a beautiful crystal vase. He places it on the counter.
"Thank you. Where are the scissors?" I ask, pulling the flowers out of the sink, taking them out of the paper.
He nods, reaching into a draw and hands me a pair of scissors. I thank him again and watch him out of the corner of my eye as he leans against the counter. I snip the ends off of the flowers, measuring them against the vase, and take some of the leaves off the bottom of the stems.
"What're you doing?" He asks out of curiosity.
"I'm cutting the stems to size, so they don't look ridiculous in the vase. You have to cut them on an angle, that way they absorb the water better. You also have to strip the leaves so they don't touch the water. If they do, they get mouldy really quickly and kill the flowers off. It just makes them last a little bit longer." I answer.
"That makes sense. I never knew flowers took so much effort to take care of." He says and I laugh.
"They're delicate little things, but they last if you take care of them." I say as I start arranging them in the vase. Once it's all finished, I add some water and then present them to Theo. "See, they fit much better." I grin.
"They look beautiful, but not nearly as beautiful as you do." His words make me melt inside and I push the vase back onto the counter. I grab his tie, pulling him to me, capturing his lips into a passionate kiss. He moans against my lips and wraps his arms around my waist. He lifts me onto the counter with ease, stepping in between my legs. I growl in approval and wrap my arms around his neck, pressing my body against his. It was pure bliss. I hear a purr rumble in Theo's chest and I chuckle into the kiss. It was weird hearing an Alpha wolf purring. It was a sign of love.
I pull away from the kiss, gasping for air. His scent and that kiss was intoxicating. I'm falling for him. I'm close to telling him that I love him, but I was going to hold off until a better moment. Until after we complete the mating process.
