After my question, we found ourselves in the living room. I'm sure there's a fancier name for it, but if it looks like a duck, swims like a suck and quacks like a duck; it is a duck. Or in this case, a living room. It was decorated similarly to the rest of what I've seen of the building. The walls were navy blue, with gold accents. It was stunning, and not something I'd have placed with my mates. There was a decadent fireplace in the centre of the room, surrounded by two sofas and a chaise lounge, with a coffee table in the middle. Above the fireplace was a television, that was currently switched off.
I positioned myself on the chaise lounge, and the triplets sat on one of the sofa's. They were all looking at me with a mix of hurt and love in their eyes. I guess they're not happy about me sitting so far away from them, but they have some explaining to do and I don't want to get distracted.
"So, who's going to start?" I ask, raising my eyebrow at them.
Oliver glanced at his brothers before clearing his throat. "Alright, so you've probably worked out that we're triplets."
"Unless another copy of you three is going to walk through that door, then yes. Yes, I have." I say. Theodore smirked at my response, and Henry chuckled, but I got a glare from Oliver.
"As you're probably aware, twins and triplets run in our family." I nod. "Usually, multiples get their own mates. We're not entirely sure why we have the same mate, but we can't question the Moon Goddess' decision. She has paired you with us all for a reason, and we're really grateful. When a King abdicates, he doesn't name a successor, unlike the humans. It is out of his hands, as his powers are passed down to his heir automatically. A few months ago, when our father abdicated, we assumed that it would go to Henry and he would become King, since he is the eldest of the three of us. That's how it usually goes, and how it has gone for thousands of years. However, we all received his powers. It took us all by surprise. We thought that there had been a mistake, or that Oliver and I could feel it because of the special bond that we have, until we were visited by the Moon Goddess to confirm that all three of us were to rule together. I know it doesn't make much sense, and it's a lot to take in but that's all the information that we have." Theodore added.
I listened to their explanation and tried to take in all the information. I couldn't get my head around it. I looked at all three of them and bit my lip. It's a habit of mine, I do it when I'm thinking. I release my lip from my teeth when I notice their eyes darken. Shit. I don't want to go there.
"Okay..." I say slowly, still processing the information they've just thrown at me. "So, how is this going to work?" I ask.
"However way you want it to work, sweetheart. We'll go at whatever pace that you're comfortable with." Henry said.
Great. Just great. They're putting it on me. I sigh and play with my fingers a little (another habit of mine). I close my eyes and lean back on the chaise lounge. I know they're waiting for my answer or some kind of reaction from me. My mind was still toying with the idea of rejecting them, but I know that's no longer an option. I guess I'm going to have to try. This is my life now. As soon as I bare all three of their marks, I'm already one down, and have completed the mating process, I will be their Queen and the Luna to the Royal Moonstone Pack. After contemplating for what seemed like hours, I sit up straight.
"I'm still processing everything, three mates, your positions and everything, it's a lot to take in. We're taking this slow. I don't just have to build a bond with one person, so it's going to take me a little bit longer. You're going to have to be patient with me." I say and wait for their reactions. All three seemed to agree. "Before we go anywhere, you," I continue, pointing at Oliver, "you need to apologise."
He growled at me, looking dumbfounded, which only made my anger flare. "For what?" He asked.
"For marking me without my permission, jackass." I say, crossing my arms across my chest.
