As you pulled up to your new town, boxes crammed into the back seat, you began the process of unloading your belongings. With each trip back and forth, you felt a mix of excitement and trepidation about this fresh start. As you emerged from your house once again, something caught your eye. A very tall man stood nearby, wearing a mask that covered his mouth and nose, a sign of the times.

He waved to you, and despite the mask concealing most of his face, there was a warm squint in his eyes that you could tell indicated a friendly smile. Curiosity piqued, you approached him. Up close, you couldn't help but notice the striking features behind the mask. His eyes were a captivating blend of beautiful blue and gray, and they held a certain depth that drew you in.

"Hello, I'm Y/n. I just moved to town." you smile extending your hand to him.

"Konig. I live just a couple of houses down. If you need any help with those boxes, I'd be happy to assist."

"Oh, that's really kind of you, but I wouldn't want to trouble you." He towered over you, and his Austrian accent was unmistakable as he introduced himself.

"It's no trouble at all. In fact, it'd be my pleasure."

Appreciating the kindness of the gesture, you hesitated, not wanting to trouble him. But he insisted, reassuring you that it was no problem at all. He carried the last box inside as you ventured out to the mailbox on the sidewalk, grabbing your mail. Upon returning, you found Konig gently pushing the final box into a corner of your living room, neatly organizing it with the others. You turned your attention to the kitchen counter, only to realize that your spare key was missing. A muttered curse escaped your lips, catching Konig's attention.

"Is everything okay?" he asked, a concerned look on his face.

You sighed, running a hand through your hair. "I think I might have dropped my spare key outside."

Without hesitation, Konig offered to assist in searching for it, his willingness evident in his voice. But you shook your head and managed a small smile. "It's alright, thanks you Konig. I appreciate your help with the boxes."

He grinned back, his tone reassuring. "It was nothing, really. I was happy to help."

Walking him to the door, you expressed your gratitude once more. He assured you, "If you ever need anything, I'm just two houses down." You thanked him again, and he headed on his way, leaving you to settle into your new home.

Konig's eyes bore into the small key as he twirled it around his finger, a faint smile playing on his lips. He had been carefully observing your routine for the past two weeks, and learned your schedule by heart. As he saw your car pull out of the driveway and disappear down the street, he knew this was his moment. With ease, he approached your front door, his fingers carefully inserting the key into the lock. The door swung open silently, revealing the intimate world that was your home.

There was a small, almost mischievous grin on his face as he stepped inside, his footsteps silent on the floor. He knew he shouldn't be here, but the intrigue of being in your world was too tempting to resist. As Konig silently entered your home, he moved with the grace of a shadow, his every step careful and calculated. He took in the details of your living space, absorbing the essence of your life. The scent of your place, it smelled sweet, like baked goods. It was a comforting scent that made him feel strangely closer to you.

His eyes fell on a small glass plater, you had an assortment of danishes.

So, you liked to bake. This newfound insight into your life made his blood rush.

He examined the arrangement of your furniture, the colors of your walls, and the little trinkets on your shelves. His gaze lingered on the small glass figurines displayed on one of your shelves. Most of them were animals, delicate, intricately crafted creatures. It was evident that you had a deep affection for animals, and Konig couldn't help but smile to himself as he mentally noted this. His journey through your home led him to your bedroom, where he paused in the doorway. The room was a reflection of your personality - clean, organized, and inviting. The black comforter on your bed added a touch of elegance to the space. Konig couldn't help but appreciate the simplicity and comfort it exuded.
