Raiden Part: 6

45 minutes after they got their new orders Jackal entered her lab on the Heliopolis Life Science campus, holing her phone against her ear.

"Only blood and no trades. This might be worse then we thought, I'll-" Jackal talked to Raven but was cut off by having a sword at her throat. She quickly catched the blade and looked at her attacker.

To her suprise it was Mei who weakly held the blade against her throat.

"Forget it, she's in my lab. Come over here." Jackal said and hung up.

The scientist took a moment to take a good look at their little Dragon. She was paler then usual, sweating, and looked like she should have collapsed several minutes ago. Not only that, around her whole abdomen area was a large blood staint.

Jackal pushed the blade away and put her phone away.

"Where where you?" Jackal asked, wondering what got the Herrscher into this state.

"A...Akiko." Mei said weakly before collapsing. She would have fallen face first on the ground if Jackal hadn't caught her. She carried her over to a free operation table and laid her down on it.

Mei tryed to push Jackal away from her but had no sucess.

"Stay still, I won't harm you. I'd be doomed if I did." Jackal whispered the last part.

Raven entered the lab an hour after they got their new orders.

The least thing she expected to see was Raiden Mei out of all people lying on Jackal's operation table with bandages around her stomach and attached to an Iv.

"What happened?" Raven asked the scientist who sat at her computer beside numerous machines.

"Our Dragon somehow managed to sneak in here and collapsed as I found her. She'll be alright, but Akiko stole my poison and gave it to her." Jackal said while typing.

"Akiko?" Raven asked suprised "Are you sure?"

"Yes, who else was close enough to her. I just wonder how she caught Raiden so offguard." Jackal said and stood up, taking a dose of the antidote she made.

"I'll inform the Sire, any ideas when she can tell us what happened?" Raven asked.

"Hopefully in half about half an hour to an hour. She will be fine, she's a Herrscher after all." Jackal said.

Raven raised an eyebrow and took a breath in. "You have no clue if this work, do you?" She asked.

"..."

"..."

They looked at eachother for a moment before "I had altered the formular and had no chance to test out an antipoison." Jackal admitted and walked beside Mei.

"Wonderful. I'll call the Sire now." Raven said as Jackal injected the antidote.

The temperature seemed to suddenly drop as the door opened and swiftly closed.

"Not nececarry. I am here." Kevin's dark voice filled the lab. They both looked at him and saw Gray Serpent walking behind him, his umbrella was not closed for some reason.

"How is she?" Kevin asked and took a nearby chair to sit beside Mei.

For a moment he only saw Dr. Mei lying dead in her casket made out of glass, flowers under her and eyes closed.
He still remembered holding their baby in his arms, how he wished to follow her and be reunited with her for one last small adventure. But now he wanted to finish his mission before finaly joining the love of his life.

Even after 50.000 years the spark of his love for her had not died.

"Raiden will be fine, I'm pretty sure she will be able to give us information about what happened." Jackal answeared, but Kevin didn't realy look like he was listening. He didn't even look at someone else beside the unconscious Mei.
