Haya's POV:
My phone slipped from my hand as I tried to come out of shock, absorbing what mom said.
'Kya huwa Haya? Kya kaha chachi nay?' Haniya shook my arm.
'Haya,is everything alright?' Shehry said.
'Ghar Jana Hai mujhay' I blurted out with difficulty, as I was trying to hold back my tears.
'Kya?'
'GHAR JANA HAI MUJHAY!' I screamed, not knowing and not caring about my surrounding. The car took a sharp turn and headed towards my house.
'Haya at least batao tou huwa Kya hai?' Haniya asked softly.
'Baba... Unko heart stroke...' I couldn't continue my sentence as she gasped, and tears pooled in my eyes.
'Haya, please bharosa rakho Allah par' Hussain tried consoling me.
'Yeah. InshaAllah Kuch Nahi hoga unhai. Don't loose hope like this' Shehry too, comforted me. I felt sudden rush of guilt in me,thinking how rudely I screamed at him.
'Sh-shehry,I.. I'm so sorry. I...' I begun apologizing but he cut me off.
'Shh. Its perfectly alright,Haya. I understand' He said, assuring me honestly.
We drove in silence as I kept holding back my tears, praying for dad constantly.
He parked the car outside my house and I ran inside.
'Haya beti! Haya beti! Our watchman,Shaakir Uncle called me. I halted my steps and ran to him.
'Shakir Uncle,mama... Baba..' I panted as he said.
'Haya beti, apki mama aur driver apkay baba ko hospital lekar gaye hain. They'll be back in an hour. Aap aaram kijiyay' He patted my head and Haniya handed me a glass of water which I gulped in an instant.
'Haya,we've informed Hashim and they're coming. I should be going home' Shehry said, as they stepped out of the house.
'Okay, but please take care. And drive carefully' I warned him.
'Whatever you say, madam. And yeah, koi bhi kaam hou, ring me up immediately, whether its 3 in the night or 5 in the morning' He said and Hussain nodded with a soft smile. I felt a sudden rush of affection for them and I nodded, mouthing 'thanks'. They went and Haniya took me to my room. 'Haniya, everything was fine when I left. Dad wasn't home from office yet,but mom talked to him in the noon and he was fine. HE WAS PERFECTLY FINE!' I said the last sentences loudly and she patted my shoulder.
'Panicking like this isn't going to help, Haya. Please pray for him and stop stressing yourself' she said, while stealing her glance away from me,as she blinked back her own tears. She is really close to dad, too.
Hadeeqa(Haya's mom)'s POV:
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I pressed my hands togather in a prayer. The doctors had asked me to wait as they shifted him to the emergency ward. Ali,please be alright. I cannot imagine my life without you. Haya needs a father's support at her side, too.
I was busy crying and praying at the same time when I heard the doctor calling me.
'Miss Hadeeqa Ali,right?' She spoke in her white accent.
'Yes,how is my husband? Will he be alright? Please say yes!' I literally begged in front of her.
'Keep a grip on yourself, Mrs Ali. I need to talk to you properly. Will you come to my office, please?' She said kindly. I nodded and wiped my tears, while following her.
She poured me a glass of water and I drank it in one go. She cleared her throat and begun speaking.
'Okay, so firstly I need to know that is your husband facing any tension? Or stress?'
I gulped as I recalled tonight's scene at home.
'Y-yes. He's taking a lot of stress because of my in-laws.' I managed to utter.
'Hm,so its a family matter,I guess' she said and I nodded.
'Whatever happened tonight was something too shocking that left him with a heart stroke. Its extremely fatal for his health as he's already having his blood pressure quite high. We had kept him in an ICU for now. We'll keep you notified with his condition everyday' she spoke grimly.
'How long will he be here?' I asked nervously.
'As long as he takes time to recover. If he doesn't regain consciousness in 24 hours, then I'm afraid it will prove extremely fatal for your husband. Keep praying for him as we're trying our best' She said, assuring me,making my heart sink. Yeh sab Kya hogaya,Ya Allah! Kya apnay hi hamai itna dukh desaktay hain?
With shaking hands,I picked up my phone and ringed Haya.
Haya's POV:
I changed back into my casual, home attires and covered my head with a veil and spread my prayer mat on the floor. I pressed my hands together and emtied my heart out. Ya Allah,Yeh achanak baba ko Kya hogaya? Heart stroke?! Ya Allah, mai Yeh Nahi jaanti kay kesay, kab aur Kiyun aesa huwa unkay sath magar mai itna jaanti hun Kay teri qudrat mai sab Kuch hai. Bas baba ko jaldi say theek karday. I can never imagine my life without him. Please Allah, baba ko bachalain! As I ended my prayer with soft sobs,my phone rang. I glanced at the caller ID. Mom. I picked up hurriedly and said' Mama! Kahan hain aap? Aur baba kesay hain?'
'Beta mai hospital mai hun. As for baba, please unkay liyay dua karou Kay unhai 24 hours may hosh ajaye. Otherwise it will prove fatal for him' she sniffed at the end and my heart dropped to my stomach.
'M-mama. Mai abhi jae-namaz par hi bethi hun. I'm so worried mom,you cannot imagine' I said wearily.
'Haya, have faith in Him. He will make your dad gain his consciousness. Its my promise' she said firmly, and I nodded.
'Ab phone rakho aur thora araam karlo. That reminds me,are you alone at home?' She asked worriedly.
'No,mum. Haniya is with me. Shehry and Hussain wanted to stay too, cause were alone and Shakir Uncle too, will sleep after 12. Just in case we need anything' I explained.
'That's really sweet of them. I will stay in hospital. Can you and Haniya manage all by yourselves?'
'Of course, mum. We already had our dinner and we'll just go to sleep' which I hardly doubt. I added internally.
'Alright, ring me if you need anything, okay? I'll send someone'.
'Okay mum. Take care.' We said our goodbyes and hanged up. I turned around to see Haniya with a cup of hot chocolate for me.
'Iski Kya zaroorat thi?' I said meekly after taking the cup from her.
'Zaroorat thi. Isiliyay banaya tumhare liyay. Now drink it up and go to sleep. You need rest' she said firmly, and I smiled slightly.
'You know I cannot sleep in this situation'
'I know, and this time, I'll make you fall asleep, samjhi?' She faked an anger expression and giggled at her cuteness. I finished my cup and washed it and we both went to our room. Haniya slept in few minutes while I kept changing sides. I couldn't sleep a wink. I sighed and got up from bed, and went towards my backyard, just to cool my mind and relax myself. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
I wonder what happened at my back at home. Did Phupo came, and said anything?' Whatever it is, its so not good.
'What's not good?' A deep, male voice made me jump and my heart beat grew faster. I spun around in horror and my jaw dropped.
'Shehry?!'
