Haya's POV:
I sat upright. Feeling Alert, and panic stricken,I waited. The knob turned and I hold my breath with my heart pounding loudly against my chest. As the door opened...
'Mama!' I gasped and rushed towards her.
'Shh,its okay. There's nothing to get afraid. You're one brave girl, right?'
'But mom,who were they?'
'Some burglars,I guess. But they ran out as soon I stepped in the house. Nothing stolen. No harm done' she caressed my hair, faking a smile.
'Where was the gatekeeper, mom?'
'He had gone to the bathroom, I guess'
'Bathroom?!'
'Why,can't he? Come on Haya. Don't stress yourself much. Go fix yourself, we'll have lunch together' She said getting up.
'Mom,Where's dad?' She stopped short.
'What? Oh,he's gone to the office of course. What's got into you?'
'Oh. Yeah, right. I'll go get ready' I let out a huge sigh and forced my gigantic body towards the washroom.
Shehry's POV:
'Whoa,so you're actually Mr Shahnawaz's daughter?!' I widened my eyes in disbelief.
'Yeah, what's so special in that?' She said, rolling her eyes.
'What's so special?! God,you're the daughter of some number one directing manager and you're asking me what's so special? I'm working as his assistant and right now,I'm here, having a date with his daughter. Job say nikaal dega tumhara baap mujhay' I said, faking a horrified expression. She giggled lightly. 'Nahi nikaalay ga. We're not related now, remember?'
'Oh,yeah. Sorry' I mentally face palmed myself.
'Um.. Its getting late. I have to go to hospital tomorrow' she said, checking time on her wrist watch on her firm, fair wrists. What?
'Oh,yeah. Sure. Waiter!' We paid the bills and went home, after stopping for an ice cream from a nearby ice cream parlor.
Haya's POV:
'Um.. Haya?' A voice caught my attention when I came out of my room.
'Minsa,tum idhar?'
'Uh haan. Actually mom had to go to her Friend's house, which is not far from here,so she dropped me here'
'Oh' I wanted to say something really sarcastic but then dad's advice rang in my mind. 'Ghar aya huwa mehmaan chahay dushman hi Kiyun na ho,usko kabhi zaleel mat karna. Yaad rakhna meri Yeh baat hamesha....' I snapped out of my thoughts and diverted my attention back to Minsa.
'Had your lunch?' I Asked.
'Um.. No' she replied sheepishly.
'Come on,mom's getting the lunch ready'
'Oh wait!' She called after me.
'What?'
'I wanted to talk to you abiut something'
'We can,after lunch'
'No,its urgent'
I sighed 'sure,go ahead'
She took a deep breath. 'Look, we had always hated each other for nothing. Mainly, its all my fault cause I get jealous of you. Jealous of your looks, grades, family, status and all the hot guys drooling at you. Well,I don't Blame them. You really are that pretty' she paused to giggle. 'Anyways so, including all the recent encounters on Hirat's wedding, all I wanted to say that I'm sorry. When I said mum dropped me here, thats because I told her to. I could've beared their 'aunty-like' conversation but I had a job to get done, which is to seek for your apology. Today was a golden chance, so why let it go' she ended her speech and I was dumbstruck. Should I forgive her?
Why not?
'Apology accepted' I said sincerely, with a smile.
'Really?' Her eyes shone.
'Really'.
'Thank you so so sooooo much' she strangled me in a hug.
'Haha,no problem silly. Now come on,the food's getting stone cold. All thanks to you' i rolled my eyes mischievously and ran away,as she gasped.
'Haya ki bachii!'
'Is mai meray bachon ka Kya kasoor?' I called back and ran away, chuckling.
