3rd person POV:

"I miss her so much....."

Gwen cried into her sleeve and went silent. Miles pulled her into him, and Gwen lay there, almost using Miles's body completely for support. Not knowing what to do, to Gwen's surprise, Miles started to braid her hair on the side. Gwen let Miles do his thing, until Miles finished and Gwen sat up, finally distracted from her sadness. "Wow...." She said, adoring the great work Miles had done. "How'd you learn how to do that?" Miles chuckled nervously and began to scratch his head. Gwen raised an eyebrow, knowing Miles only did that if he was nervous or feeling akward. Under her stare, Miles tried to stay quiet and move on from the subject, until Miles finally gave in and said "I used to have braids..... a bit ago. My Uncle helped me get the idea." Gwen couldn't help but laugh at the idea. Miles with braids? All of a sudden she went from crying to laughing out loud, and Miles, although embarrassed, was happy to see her finally smile in what felt like forever, and smiled as well. "You have to show me" She said, as she yet again admired Miles's handwork. "Maybe..... but you gotta keep yours. It's a good memory for both of us. My Uncle..... your mom." Gwen suddenly stopped. "How did you‐ know?" "I saw your childhood pictures... the ones with your mom....most of them had you with braids, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why the newer pictures don't have braids. Even though I am a genius." Miles replied. Gwen couldn't help but smile at the last line. Typical Miles. She playfully shoved him, and Miles pretended to be hurt and pouted. Gwen laughed and kissed him. After a short kiss, Gwen pulled apart and said "If you show me you with braids, I'll keep the braids."

-Days later

Miles was listening to music, head laid on Gwen's lap as she worked on writing a new song for the band. The band has taken off and gone viral, their popularity skyrocketing after their performance 'that night' (When Gwen sung for Miles) at the competition, adding more to the work Gwen has, on top of her schoolwork and her work as Spider-woman. "....And there we go, finished." She said, and Miles looked up, a concerned look on his face. It was clear to him that she was burnt out, especially with the introduction of the Spider-society which gave them more jobs. "And now my homework..." She sighed, picking it up. A puzzled look came across her face as she realized the stack of schoolwork in her hands was.... finished, yet she had no recollection of finishing it. She facepalmed. Maybe the work was getting to her. She looked down at Miles, who she hadn't noticed move earlier, and she assumed was still asleep. But something told her that something was up. She picked up the work, to realize the handwriting looked somewhat familiar.... her head snapped down as she realized that..... it was one of Miles's many handwriting styles. And when she looked at Miles, she also noticed a pen loosely poking out of the pocket of his jacket.... and Gwen remembered Miles taking a suspiciously long "drink of water" where he left the room..... she slowly connected the dots in her head.....

"OW!" Miles Morales's eyes snapped open as he rubbed his forehead, only to match the glare of his girlfriend

"OW!" Miles Morales's eyes snapped open as he rubbed his forehead, only to match the glare of his girlfriend. "what did I do....?" he murmured, and Gwen looked at him. "My homework. Did you do it for me?" She asked sternly. "Uh..... no?" He asked nervously. "Miles?" Gwen asked again, and the boy quickly nodded. Gwen looked like she was about to say something, but her look quickly softened as she looked at the boy in front of her fondly. "Thanks so much. But why?" Miles thanked his lucky stars in his head that she didn't hit him again, and then said "C'mon, it's obvious. You've been working yourself to the ground recently. You're so tired. Plus.... I kinda wanted some time with you.... just you." Gwen felt touched by the comment, and she shyly looked away as she blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Ok fine," She finally replied. "Where we going?"

Hi guys! I'm back! Sorry the chapter is out later than promised, I really wanted this story to come out quicker, and I had it written a while ago, but since I was on a trip, plus the holiday celebrations, I wasn't able to post it as quickly as I wanted, considering I wanted to start off the year with an immediate chapter. I'll try my best to post consistently as I had done before over the next year, and don't worry, this story isn't ending anytime soon.

And again, thanks for 32k!
