CHAPTER 9

3rd Person's Pov

"I was also invited here at the conference; my teammates are currently flying here for the bootcamp event. I was hanging out with Blacklist because Edward will also be here in a short while. He's one of my friends and we've known each other even before we became professional players." Kairi was about to add something when they saw that the conference is about to start.

"The press conference is about to start. Please settle yourselves." The announcer said with a microphone. Aleah and Kairi looked at each other.

"Let's chat later." She smiled at him. Kairi nodded and pursed his lips. Aleah's eyes roamed around, looking for Alodia and she spotted him coming on her direction.

"How's the interview?" Aleah asked her as Alodia sat down.

"It was fine, they are still intrigue why I'm here with Tier One, also, they asked me what Kairi is doing here in our area." She chuckled. "I just replied that I have no idea."

"you're not entirely wrong, you didn't expect that he's here either." Aleah agreed. The announcer called out again and the press conference started.

"Greetings to all of the attendees. We would like to thank you for your patience. As we start this conference, let us welcome in behalf of the chairman of Moonton, their representative, Liu Chen!" The crowd immediately stood up and claps. Liu Chen then waved as he made his way on to the podium.

"Thank you all for coming." He started his speech. "As we all know, we, the management of Mobile Legends have officially revealed that there will be a joint bootcamp event where the teams will have their matching games and share some strategies and techniques as they try to enhance their gameplay."

"This will also benefit not only us, the creators of the game, it can also benefit the players of the game whether they are professional or not. As we will hear the players' opinions and suggestions to make our game have a safe and better environment for us all." He added.

"We would like to announce the teams that will participate in this event." There was a projector suddenly flashing at the back of Liu Chen. "The participant teams are the following: Blacklist International. Onic Indonesia, A.P Bren, EVOS Legends Indonesia, ECHO Philippines, RSG Philippines have been confirmed to attend on this said event."

"As for the qualifications why, these teams are chosen by our evaluation team, they are the ones being recommended by our statisticians who had evaluated the players with their unique playstyles and Hall of Fame titles."

"But, for fair play, we would like to invite the teams that weren't mentioned in this screen to have a mock battle between the chosen teams. As an advantage, we will give you the freedom to choose which teams you want to have a battle with. The chosen teams can only have the option to accept." Liu Chen smirked. "This mock battle will take place tomorrow afternoon."

After the conference, the reporters immediately rushed to where Liu Chen is while he is walking fast to the exit with his bodyguards. Boss Tryke offered to have lunch with them which they all agreed.

"We will meet you there." Alodia told him. "I just need to take these final interviews." She sighed.

"Or we could escort Miss Aleah and will wait you there at the restaurant." Boss Tryke suggested. Alodia immediately made a cross arm saying no.

"No, her manager will skin me alive if I agree, also, it would be bad if rumors will spark suddenly especially Kairi is with you." Boss Tryke also just realized that possibility.

"You're right. I didn't think that through, alright then." He stood up again. "We will meet you at the restaurant." He said while nodding. Kairi approached Aleah.

"Hi, is it alright if we could resume our conversation later?" He asked, hoping that Aleah would agree. Aleah stared at him for a second, smiled and nods.

"Of course, we'll see each other in a while." Kairi felt flutters in his stomach and felt shy. He looks away in shyness as he nodded. Boss Tryke and Kairi left the room.

"Aleah dear, is it alright if you can wait in the car? Someone might recognize you if they will swarm me." Alodia worriedly said. Aleah nodded. Alodia immediately signaled one of her bodyguards and staff to escort Aleah to the car.

As she was heading inside the car, she felt that someone was taking her a picture. She felt nervous and immediately informed the bodyguard. He nodded and carefully left to find if there's a person. She also informed the staff about it.

"I'll let Alodia know about this." The staff said and dialed a number.

Aleah then roamed her eyes, looking to see if there are people around. minutes later, she could see that the bodyguard was holding a camera and calling someone. Her hunch was right. She turned to the staff who had just finished taking a call.

"Do you have a facemask? I'll change my sunglasses into eyeglasses. I think that person will continue to stalk us later." She told the staff. She doesn't want to attract any attention especially Linda specifically told her about it.

'I don't want to get scolded about it.' She cried internally. 'She might not want me to go out if that picture will be leaked.'
