"If we're living the dream, I hope we never wake up."
Third person POV
A small green-haired kid approached the playground, holding his mother's hand tightly. They walked over to a brown wooden bench where a blonde woman and a little boy sat. They were bickering with each other over a new movie. The greenette caught the blonde's attention, and she smiled while patting the seat next to her.
"Hello Mitsuki, long time no see." The green-haired woman greeted the blonde as she sat down next to her. The air was crisp and a bit windy as the two sat on the bench together. The playground was filled with the sounds of children playing and parents yelling.
"Hi Inko!" The blonde greeted the green-haired woman, who smiled in response.
"I haven't seen you in forever, how have you been?" The Mitsuki pulled Inko into a hug as the two little boys stood on opposite sides of the benches. The two were a bit shy as they stared at each other from behind the safety of their mothers. Both of them held a look of curiosity as they held eye contact. The mothers seemed to pick up on the little boys' interest in each other, the greenette mentioning it first.
"Aw, is that little Katsuki?" Inko cooed at the small boy, who seemed startled at the strange woman knowing his name. Katsuki stared at Inko and then at the boy behind her. He wanted to understand why his mom was talking to these people. He mainly just wanted to go play on the playground. Katsuki began tugging on his mother's shirt to direct her attention to him. However, she was looking at the other little boy and Inko. This only further frustrated Katsuki.
"Yes, he is becoming more of a brat the older he gets," Mitsuki complained, and Inko laughed in response as she felt a finger squeeze her hand. Izuku peered his head out for a moment to look at the two blonds. He then immediately retracted it and hid.
"That must be little Izuku, he's grown so much." Mitsuki looked at the small, timid boy, who was still hiding behind his mother.
"Yes, he is a rather shy boy," Inko says as she looks at her son and sighs. "Maybe our kids would like to play together?" This grabbed the attention of both of the little boys.
"Of course! That sounds great." The blonde said excitedly as she held Katsuki's hand and stood up. Inko held Izuku's hand and stood up as well. Katsuki stared at the woman in front of him in amazement as Izuku was still hiding behind his mother. Katsuki was thrilled at the chance of having a friend to play with. Especially Izuku, he wasn't sure why, but something about the little boy stood out to him.
"Izuku, sweetie, why don't you come and meet Katsuki. Maybe you guys can play together?" Inko said softly as she turned around to face her son.
"B-But Mommy, don't leave me!" The small boy started to cry as the green-haired woman kneeled down in front of him. Inko gave her son a warm smile as she tried to console him. Izuku, after all, had a tendency to cry. Inko never let it phase her. She just wanted him to be happy.
"I would never leave you, sweet boy." The young boy stopped crying while looking up at his mother, and he hugged her tightly.
"Now, this is Katsuki." Inko says as she helped move Izuku to stand in front of her, still holding his hand. The little boy used every ounce of strength in his small fingers to keep hold of his mother. He has never been apart from his mother for long. It had always just been the two of them, at least from his recollection. The same can't be said for Inko's memory.
"H-Hi." The green-haired little boy mumbled softly. The tears dried from his face as he stared at the kid in front of him. Katsuki's interest in the boy was decreasing by the minute. Mainly due to the fact that he wanted to go play, and little Izuku was slowing down that process.
