Damien's POV

My intercom buzzes and then followed by the high pitched voice of my secretary Jennifer."Sir, you chairman is here."

Its time.

I twirled around on my chair, grabbing my laptop and checking the presentation one last time. When my door clicked open and my dad strolled into the room.

"The Japanese are here." He said as he stood infront of the table with authority.

"Yeah, dad. Be there in a minute."

I still continued looking through the presentation. He patiently waited for me to finish, as strolled around a bit in the room checking out the other files and then resting his feet in the couch.

"You look tired?" He asked, even though he was a bit far. His voice boomed in the room.

"Yeah. Had a lot of work with this project with the Japanese." I replied him, my eyes still glued to the laptop screen.

"You can rest. If you want, I will lead the meeting."

This is the first time my dad seemed bothered about me. It made my frozen heart warm.

But the point was, I couldn't sleep for days. Since that incident with Loviana, I haven't been sleeping well. I haven't been at peace at all. Everytime I close my eyes I see her face, those eyes that held so much pain. Those tears which accused me of hurting her. The way her voice broke when she begged me to let her go. To leave her alone. My heart crumbled into pieces as I saw her so vulnerable.

Loviana wasn't someone who was weak. She was fierce, she was strong. She was someone who was never afraid to point out my fault and someone who would gracefully accept hers. Not that she ever made any mistakes in the first place. But I knew atleast this much about her from all the days and weeks I have spent with her. She was just perfect, but I knew she had flaws. One was her trust issues. I don't know what she's been through to judge but I know that wall those walls around her heart, was just to protect herself. And I knew that someone so kind would definitely need to keep her guard up from this cruel world.

"....Damien?" My dad's voice snapped me out of my chain of thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"I think you should rest. You seem..." He trailed off.

"No. I'm fine. Its just the stress." I assured him as I grabbed my laptop and walked upto him and he led the way out of my room. We were waiting for the elevator when my phone chimed. I saw it was Dan. I picked up the phone and

"Hello?"

Silence.

"Hello?" I said, my voice laced with panic as I didn't get an answer.

"I-I th-think some-one is in t-the house." Dan whispered.

"Dan? Are you okay?" My father's brows knitted in confusion.

"N-no. I heard L-Loviana sc-scream. I-In the ho-house. S-someone..."

Shit.

"I t-think its h-her, G-Gia. I... w-what d-do I do?"

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

I could hear his heavy breathing from the other side.

"Dan. Calm down. Take some deep breaths."

He did.

I continued through the phone.

"You have your watch on your wrist, right? Make a call to the security team. Do not go near her. Stay where you are. I'm on my way."
