He's More Than Nothing
The daylight got shorter and shorter at Hogwarts, causing most students to fall into a seasonal depression.
This never affected Anita or Willow, but Maeve had been hit by a bus. She mopped around and complained about everything.
"I don't feel like going." She moaned as they walked to DADA, slugging over as she wandered. She shivered against the cold air, wishing her robe was thicker.
"You're going to ruin your posture," Willow responded, pulling her bag closer to her chest. The days became colder, making it harder to walk through the breezeways. Everyday became chillier.
"Use your magic to get a heavier jacket or something." Anita barely kept her eyes on them as she walked, her eyes meeting every face she passed.
"Let's skip today." Maeve already knew the answer as soon as the words came out of her mouth. Willow had perfect attendance and that was never going to change.
She shook her head in response, eyeing the entrance to the classroom. Unfortunately, her eyes met Cedric's, watching as he entered the classroom as confident as ever.
She rethought her perfect attendance and how important it was to her, but she realized she wasn't going to let some boy ruin that.
If they thought she was avoiding Cedric before, they would be surprised of how good of a job she was doing now.
Ever since the party and reminiscing on the feeling of his hand in her hair, she couldn't stomach the thought of it happening again.
The feeling of his body heat transferring to hers still lingered in her head, as well as the thoughts of kissing him. It caused her stomach to twirl until she became nauseous.
"Are you sure?" Maeve egged her on, noticing the interaction she had with the Hufflepuff boy. Anita and Maeve had a great experience at the party, both of them gaining more attention from their choice of boys.
Part of Willow wished she could've left with the same fulfillment, but she wasn't sure if she even wanted Cedric Diggory.
The thought of having to tell her parents that she and he were together didn't seem to have a good outcome, no matter how hard she thought about it.
Let alone, Draco. He would throw a fit and call her names, telling her she was weak and obnoxious for ruining their reputation.
"I'm sure." She nearly whispered as they entered the classroom, immediately taking a seat in the back.
George turned around from the middle of the room, giving Anita a small wave. Willow was happy that her friend was experiencing such a gentle crush, but couldn't help but feel anxious.
