Willow spotted Fred and George Weasley on her walk alone around the castle that morning, giving them a polite smile for the first time in years.

She pretended not to notice their dumbfounded expressions at her smile, giving herself a small smirk as soon as they were out of sight.

The friend figured that if Anita was growing a heart for one of them, the least she could do was acknowledge their existence.

It seemed that love was beginning to surround Hogwarts this year, which most felt started in their fourth year.

She began to see more and more couples in Hogsmeade, in class, and in the courtyard, kissing away or looking longingly into one another's eyes.

The sight made her feel physically ill, most of the time, but it also left her with an unexplainable feeling of envy and heartache.

She sometimes wondered if love would find her, yet she refused to search for it herself. The poor boy who fell for her would have to go through walls in order to get even an ounce of her attention.

The thoughts floated away like a balloon let go by a child as she continued her walk, deciding it was finally time to head to potions, which she intended to be first to arrive.

Much to her surprise, she watched someone else walk in before her, who wasn't the professor. She didn't bother looking to see who it was, feeling a tad bit unsatisfied with it.

Willow laid out her notebook and quill before her, then adjusted her tucked-in shirt with satisfaction.

"Well, hello." A quiet voice mumbled in the silence of the class, pulling her away from the sight in front of her.

Willow's head whipped around before she met the tender eyes of no other than, Cedric Diggory.

His uniform was tightly tucked and surprisingly wrinkle-less, mirroring a similar setup on his desk.

"Hello, Diggory." She responded, turning her head back to the front of the class, suddenly wishing more students would decide to show up early.

Her usual secure posture was replaced with a more graceless one as she noticed him and he noticed her.

They usually weren't alone in a classroom together, or maybe they were, she had yet to notice the difference.

"How are you?" The sounds of his footsteps inched closer to her until he reached the front of the classroom, leaning against the cold desk.
