Inside of the lighthouse mansion, Selina is talking to Dick while he's eating chowder.

Dick: Lord Ffogg and Lady Peasoup own me, I guess. They said it was against the law
for me to ever leave them.

Selina looks at Dick's bruise on his neck.

Selina: Where did you get that bruise?

Dick: Lord Ffogg. I was milking the cow, and I missed the bucket.

Selina: Had he done that before?

Dick: All the time. The first time I ran away, the orphan home sent me back. This time, I'll just keep running.

Selina: Well, you'll be safe here.

Dick: Selina, no one's ever been this nice to me. I'll always remember it.

Selina: Dick, why don't you sleep here tonight?
We'll figure out what to do tomorrow. Okay? (Dick nods) Wonderful.I've got work to do. Come on.

Dick: Are you anybody's mother?

Selina: I'm not even anybody's wife.

Dick: But you're gonna get married now, aren't you?

Selina: I'm already married to this lighthouse.

He looks at a picture.

Dick: Who's that?

Selina: Bruce.

Dick: Is he part of your family?

Selina and Dick went upstairs to light the lighthouse.

Selina: He almost was.

Dick: How can someone almost be part of a family?

Selina: We were going to be married.

Dick: How come you weren't?

Selina: Well, as far as we know, his ship was headed for a storm. They were never heard from again. That was a year ago.

Dick: He'll come back.

Selina: I tell myself the same thing every day, standing up there watching for ships on the horizon. Time I should be thinking of other things, so they tell me.

They went downstairs. Selina is about to put Dick to bed.

Dick: I'll have to ask Elliott about Bruce. He has a way of knowing things.

Selina: Who's Elliott?

Dick: My dragon.

Selina: Dragon? (Gasps) So you're the boy with the dragon.

Dick: Yup.

Selina: Where is he?

Dick: Down in the cave.

Selina: That's interesting. I've never known anyone with a dragon. What does he look like?

Dick: Just a plain, ordinary dragon.

Selina: How plain? How ordinary?

Dick: (singing) He has the head of a camel, the neck of a crocodile

Selina: It sounds rather strange

Dick: He's both a fish and a mammal,
and I hope he'll never change
'Cause it's not easy to find someone who cares

Selina: (singing) It's not easy to find magic in pairs

Dick: I'm glad I found him,
I love him,
I won't let him get away
'Cause it's not easy

Selina: You say the head of a camel,
the neck of a crocodile

Dick: And the ears of a cow

Selina: It's clear that friends can be different,
yes, I understand you now

Both: It's not easy to find someone who cares
It's not easy to find magic in pairs

Selina: Now that you have him, hold him, treasure him from day to day
It's so easy
Life is lollipops and rainbows with the one you love
Someone you can always be with, argue and agree with

Dick: Climb the highest tree with

Both: It's not easy to share somebody's dreams
It gets easy when you work as a team

Selina: You've got to tend it, fan it

Dick: That's what I plan to do
Oh, I had one friend by my side
Now, I have two
Him and you

Selina: Him and me

Both: And it's so easy

Dick fell asleep. Selina tucks him in and kiss him on the head. And she hums while writing her lighthouse check. The next day Dick wakes up and sees Alfred.

Dick: Good morning, sir.

Alfred: Good morning, son.

Dick: Nice to see you again.

Alfred: Ah. Thank you. (He looks at Dick.) Aah!It's you!

Dick: What's the matter?

Alfred: It's you. (Dick points himself) The boy with the dragon.

Dick: Yes, sir.

Alfred screams until Selina came upstairs.

Selina: Alfred! Alfred, what is it?

Alfred: The boy with the dragon.

Selina: I know. Now, just take it easy.

Alfred: You saw it. You saw it?

Selina: I didn't actually see it, but I know what it looks like.

Alfred: But wha...

Selina: We'll talk about it later.

Alfred: It isn't in the lighthouse, is it?

Dick: No, Elliott's down in the cave.

Alfred: Oh, Ellio... Elliott? It... It even has a name.

Selina: There's nothing to get upset about.

Alfred: You're right. Right, there's nothing to get upset about. Nothing. No, why should I get upset? I should be happy. I... I should be happy! I'll go down to the saloon and I'll tell the boys. I'll say, "Boys, here it is." Then hear the apologies.

Dick: Elliott'll be happy to do it for you, sir.

Alfred: Good boy. Good lad. Just you and me and Elliott. We'll go into the saloon. Oh. Elliott... He won't... won't start to scratch or... or fight, or set anything on fire, will he?

Dick: Well, he's sort of...

Alfred: Sort of what?

Dick: Unpredictable.

Selina: Don't do anything with Elliott. Wh-Why don't you leave him where he is? It's too dangerous to take him into town.

Alfred: It's dangerous.

Selina: I don't want either one of you to say a word about Elliott to anyone, do you understand?

Alfred: No. No. Yes!

Selina: Until we've talked this over. Let's all have breakfast. The lamp has to be polished, the lens cleaned, and I want to take Dick to buy new clothes.

Alfred: Yes, well, clean Elliottand eat the lamp. I mean, we'll clea-clean the lamp. Elliott! The name's Elliott. Did you hear that?
