School Age Child Care for grades K-8

Monday-Friday

After School until 4:30 pm 3:00 - 4:30 PM

After School until 5:30 pm 3:00 - 5:30 PM

After School until 6:30 pm 3:00 - 6:30 PM

Hi, my name is Anastasia Murphy. I'm 22 years old. I am interested in applying for the Y program but don't know this Kaitlyn's email as two volunteers told me to go to the website and I should see her email. I found yours instead.

I do have experience with working with 3rd to 5th graders as I did Challenge Island many years ago.

-How I first Volunteered at 16 at my library

-How I did my High School internship for a Job site at the Library 

-How I got the Summer page position then the part time job and finally got let go, how the new library director gave my position to someone else and I "was forced to write a resignation letter" which isn't true 

-How I met the most weirdest people called "The Cook & her son the gingerbread type people"

Ok, So, I was starting Freshman year of high school and after school took the late bus. 

I would edge shelves, spice of the month, discard books with a sharpie and a stamp, shred papers, do the book drop. 

Fast forward to my Junior year, I am in this class called Work-Based-Learning where you go out to real job sites and do real tasks. I choose: A pet daycare, UPK, CVS, Party city, and the Library as I got free books. I made friends with the staff, loved learning Russian with one of the staff. 

Then once we got back by the end of the year I get a summer paged job, until my boss wanted me to continue to the school year next year. Tuesday and Friday. Until my boss retirement party and the old director left but the childrens area lady took over to be the new Library director. My hours were cut due to budget cuts and my boss retirement. I worked there for 6 months. The director wanted me to write a resignation letter saying that I left but that wasn't true, I was told my last day June 25th 2022. 

While I was doing the Internship at the Library I swear to God I met the next Gingerbread story. The baker and the son, I thought it was her husband but it turns out she brought her son,. They were fascinated by my little sister Emma who has down syndrome was surprised by her height and her age. Then she literally backs me up to the shelter saying: "are you helping us too?" "uhh yea" "what sweet children" literally gave me chills and reminded me of the Gingerbread story. 

Hey guys, I'm going to do that second year middle school play again starting on January 7th but this time it's Matilda Jr. 

The Library Job 

I also helped a girl in a wheelchair to do her 6th grade middle school play Aladdin .  At my middle school. But this year we did Matilda

At Work today: Special Olympics

Today: 1-17-2024 

Today I went to work basketball practice. I never saw one of the kids that I'm assigned to get frustrated with himself and hit himself. He has a Disability and doesn't talk much. We did Laps around the Gym while dripping the basketball, then Bounce pass, walk three steps and then pass to your partner, ran up and down the Gym court to shoot into the basket. Finally ended practice at 3:30pm (Eastern Time) until we have an Away game next week or Week after I'm not 100% sure. Then did spying for someone to tell her who come out of the Athletic Office. Once Coach took the picture and send it to my old Speech Teacher who wanted to know who was coming out after her. To get the Girls Tennis Team. When her and I got to the car and in, she then says: "I love having Adult relationship with you" I'm 21, not in school anymore because I graduated and I'm officially a Colleague at my High School so she can tell me anything because I'm not a kid anymore nor a student. Feels nice.  

1-19-2024 Library job

Today I just continued doing the Large Print packet. There're 4 separate papers but 7 pages. Then I edged shelves took my break and edged the Audiobooks. Until I had Basketball Practice.

1-23-2024 Library job and the first Creative writing 10 days Seminar class

I have my first Creative writing class tomorrow for teens. And I'm 21 and clearly NOT A "Teen" so I have to lie about my age. 

Today at work I edged shelves, discarded Large-Print books.

Special Olympics 

I did labs. Dribble the basketball, bounce pass, chest pass and zigzags. Then filled out the Timesheet 1.5 hours. 

 Library job: I worked 3 hours 1pm-4pm. I edged where I left off, then did Edged the Biography books. Finally took Mystery books from the shelf that will be discarded.  

1-30-2024 Library Job: I continued stamping the discarded books. Then continued with the Mystery Section. There wasn't Creative writing class yesterday. I worked 3 hours. 

1-31-2024 Special Olympics job: I mostly just got the rebound of the basketball whenever someone shot. Did laps with a student. Watched everyone do Chest Passes. Bounce Pass too. And finally did my Timesheet. I worked 1.5 hours.

Library Job: Today I was very late because of my Uber cancel

5-21-2024: Today I discarded books, then shredded papers, help my boss move the Fiction books to where the Mystery books were then moved the Summer Reading books: Uber driver was decent. I'm sorry I haven't been writing my entries 

5-28-2024: Today I discarded traveling books, after that I put seeds in a bag and finally just edged the Large-Print to the Fiction. That was just my regular job 

6-4-2024: Today at the Library I shifted mystery books, cut paper, edged then shred papers 

6-11-2024: I did spice of the month, discarded books, shredded papers then edged

6-18-2024: Today I shredded papers, edged books, took paper clips out and took apart a binder

Last day of the Library Job 6-25-2024:

I'm officially jobless now I'm sad but it's cool
