The name of this chapter is different because it's like a new start for y/n! In case you were confused!

TW: mention of sh and ed.

Back in New York, you completed your final exams and thankfully, it was time for summer.

When exam season happens, it's when you're usually at your lowest and stress hits you the hardest. It's hard because you can't sleep, so you're tired all day, and then you isolate yourself, so it's hard to feel happy because you're alone all the time.

In the past exam seasons you had Dash by your side, and this season you undoubtedly felt his absence, as you studied for everything together. You missed him a lot too. Of course, a part of you was still upset about what he did, but the other part of you missed him.

Grief has a funny way of working. When someone dies, you tend to only remember the good things that they did or how many people they helped before they died, but this illusion usually lasts about a month or two, and then, at least for you, resentment hits because of what they didn't do or what they did wrong, not to mention the grudge you hold against them for leaving you on this earth, "by yourself"...

Anyway, you did pretty well on all of your subjects and you're trying to get your shit back together.

Always after exam season, you end up looking like a zombie and feeling like one internally: dead.

You started meditating every morning to ground yourself more and started working out more consistently, as well as trying to eat better. The days were usually great but at night was when you crashed and your thoughts started spinning a million different ways.

However, every morning you tried again, as you were starting to want to get better.

As soon as you got back to the city, you called your parents and told them about the apartment situation. They were hesitant at first and very doubtful about why would Cate just hand it over to you, but they let you move into it, as it would mean that your dad wouldn't have to pay extra anymore.

You called Cate to let her know, and she was really happy with your decision. She made all the arrangements for you, and you met with the landlord in the apartment building so she could hand you the key, and explain how every service worked, like when the trash was picked up, when the gym opened, and everything else.

You were so happy to move out of your dorm room and finally have a big bedroom and especially a kitchen. Having a kitchen meant that you could put more effort into your meals, and have a more structured meal plan.

Also, you had a dishwasher, which you'd never had before, even at home, so you were pretty excited about not doing the dishes yourself, apart from just rinsing them.

The apartment layout consisted of a kitchen with an island, a space where the dining table was, a living room where there was a huge couch and a big piece of furniture with a huge TV and an amazing sound system, and two bedrooms, both with their bathroom. Plus, they both had bathtubs.

Also, to top it all off, it had a terrace outside, where some couches and a fireplace were. It was truly everything you dreamed of when you came to New York. The beauty of the skyline was breathtaking, and whenever you woke up early, you came out to watch the sunrise.

You had been living in it for almost two months, and it was truly great. Sebastian even slept over sometimes, as you used to always hang out at his place.
