(PART 1: Sunflower)

Bucky was looking through some old stuff he had piled into his closet. Most of it was just old junk he was given but never really used. Or stuff he used to mess around with.

He then came across a photo of when he had graduated school at the academy. That was were he had met Mark.

___

"Alright, you each have finished your training at the academy. Congratulations!" A counselor announced. "Now that you are finished with training, you will be assigned a partner for your new jobs."

Bucky looked around, worried. He didn't want a partner. He was great at working alone anyways so why should he have to work with someone else? Plus, he didn't have any friends. Although he only had himself to blame for that.

After a short while, Bucky figure out that he was working with some car named Mark. He hadn't met nor seen him around the academy, but he had heard his name a few times before.

"Are you Bucky?" A voice sounded from behind him. Bucky whipped around. "Huh? Who are you?" It was the orange car. "Oh, I'm Mark, nice to meet you. We're partners I'm pretty sure."

"Uh, okay.." Bucky felt uncomfortable. He wasn't good a socializing with others. What if he turned out to be another bully? What if he turned out to be some creepy guy—?

"Wanna go look to see which town we've been assigned to?" Mark asked, breaking his chain on thought. "Sure I guess?"

Turns out they had been assigned to a small village in the mountains. Treasureville.

"That sounds like a nice place, don't you think?"

"I guess."

It had taken a while, but eventually Bucky grew to like Mark as a friend. He didn't exactly trust him but they worked well together.

______

Bucky smiled at the memories. It had ended up better than how he had expected when they first met. That was a good thing. Now Mark seemed to be the only person he truly trusted. he wasn't exactly sure what he would do without him.

He set the photo onto his nightstand and continued digging. More old and unimportant stuff...he would probably just either dump or donate most of it.

There was a small photo tucked into the back. Huh, wonder what that is. he pondered, pulling it out. When he saw it, it took him a few moments to process what it was. But then he remembered. The memories were so vivid.

His parents...

__

"Where's momma gone?" He asked, looking up towards his father. "Will she be okay?"

His father looked down at him, tears streamed from his eyes. "She's not coming back, Buck." He choked.

He looked up at him, confused. "Why? Isn't she going to be okay? Like they said...?"
