"Mind me asking, why were you sneaking around near the burning building?" Helly asked, looking suspicious.
The guy rubbed his jaw with his hand smugly. "I just wanted to see what was goin' on, you know? You don't just see smoke and not want to figure out what it is. Human instinct after all."
Helly narrowed his eyes but didn't respond just slowly nodding. "I guess so." He paused for a few more moments. "I'm going to be right back. Don't try to escape." He then flew out, casting one last look back into the room before disappearing into the door way and slamming the door shut.
The man looked around the room, it was small, no windows, a vent in the corner of the ceiling and it was a mostly tan-ish white room. He did think for a few moments to get out through the vent, but they'd find him almost immediately. His best option was to just go with it.
The door suddenly opened again, and the figure of Poli stood in the doorway. He was transformed, covered in bandages, and looked upset. He shut the door behind him and he limped steadily towards the table, not bothering to do anything with the chair that laid in front of it.
"Answer my questions honestly, if you don't, I already know the truth and your hopeless ass will be thrown in jail."
The man bit back a retort, forcing himself to relax in his chair. "Lay it on me."
Poli didn't seem satisfied with his simple answer but continued on anyway. "Before we start, we did a background check on you, Robert Merit Wilson, what do you prefer to go by?" The man shrugged. "I don't care."
Poli nodded and began. "You said a few days ago that you were responsible for the fire that burned down that residence's home." He stared at the man for a clarification, to which he simply nodded. "Why did you do it? You know that you had committed arson, which can be charged for at most 8 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 or more." (USD)
Robert just shrugged his shoulders again. "It was an accident." He repeated. "I already told you the story." He sat up and leaned onto the table.
"I asked for the honest truth." Poli repeated, remaining calm.
"Can't a man have a smoke in piece?"
"On someone else's property?" Poli continued. "Did you know that family or receive permission to be on their property?" He did his best to keep himself in check.
Robert rubbed one of his temples. "Uh, I think I knew the dad at one point. I didn't have permission but I assumed that Parker would be fine with it since we used to work together." He looked to be telling the truth this time. "But I think he stopped hanging out with me because of the...minor drug issue."
Poli kept mental note of everything he was saying. "What was your previous job?"
"I worked at a financial office for a little less than a year. Since then I've just been kind of floating around the surface, right? I don't really have much to do in a day."
"So you decided to trespass on someone's lawn that you used to know and set their home ablaze."
The man drew back with a short stretch. "...yup."
"Do you have any, per say, enemies or just generally people that you're not on good terms with?" Poli asked, thinking hard. "Any bad fights or other occasions similar?"
"Well, that's an easy question. I know many people whom all hate me. There was a woman, she said that she really wanted to be an engineer or something, and one day she offered to fix something of mine. Well, to shorten things up, she made a small mistake and I got a little...pissed with her I suppose." He looked thoughtful. "Most of these are pretty irrelevant though.
