It's okay to be sick (Poli x Roy)

 Roy let out a harsh cough, shaking his head. "Ugh, this sucks." he muttered under his breath. He felt lightheaded and hot but still insisted on working today. He knew he was sick although he didn't tell anyone.

Driving was hard, he was tried and dizzy. Not safe to be driving feeling like that. 

Roy sighed, pulling over to the side of the road. He stayed there for a few moments, just resting.

"Roy!" He heard a familiar voice call him. He wearily turned around. It was Poli. He's going to find out...He thought irritably to himself.

Poli stopped in front of him. "Hey Roy." He said, smiling. "What are you doing?" 

Roy mustered a smile back. "Heya Poli. I was just.." he paused, trying to think of what to say. "I was looking at a bird. What's up?" He spoke quickly, wanting to move on.

Poli shrugged. "Just saw you and wanted to say hi." He looked off to the side for a moment. "Actually, now that I think about it, can-" He was interrupted by Roy suddenly bursting into a cough fit.

Roy backed away a bit. "I'm sorry...uhm, what were you saying?" He maneuvered his tires anxiously. 

Poli looked skeptical. "Are you alright? You sure your not sick?" He looked a bit worried. 

Stupid cough. "Uh, no I'm fine! It's just a little cough that's all!" He felt eager to leave. 

Poli looked rather unphased by this lie. "I can tell your sick, Roy. Come on, let's go back to the rescue center." 

"But-"

"let's go."

Amber was taking Roy's temperature, and sure enough, he had a fever. .

"I'm going to get some medicine for you." Amber said to Roy, heading out. "Just rest for the meantime okay?"

Roy nodded, adjusting his gaze towards the wall. 

Poli sighed. "Why didn't you tell us? That could have ended badly." He frowned, driving a bit closer. "If we were do go on a rescue mission with you feeling like this something really bad could've happened to you."

Roy looked up, still seeming rather unpleased.

"It's okay to be sick sometimes. It happens to the best of us. But the best thing you can do is let us know so we can help you get better. We care about you." Poli drove up beside him, bumping Roy's side with his tire. "At least you have to take a break. Something you don't know how to do."

Roy smiled at the joke. "Yeah yeah. But is it really that great?"

"Do you enjoy having to do the same thing everyday?"

"I like being able to have the freedom to go outside and do what I want."

"Like looking at birds that don't exist?"

Roy rolled his eyes and moved away. "Okay I think I get it."

Poli chuckled before sighing. "I would still prefer if you told me if you felt upset. I just don't ever want anything bad to happen to you because of something silly like that...I would probably end up blaming myself for not noticing sooner. Take care of yourself."

Roy nodded, thinking for a moment. He then shrugged, smiling. "It's not like you could get rid of me that easily."

"Hmm, don't overestimate yourself."

They both laughed for a few moments before Amber came back in. "Hey guys. I'm going to need you--" she looked towards Roy. "-to take this at least once or twice a day."

"Ugh," Roy mumbled, coughing a few times.

Amber gazed at him sympathetically. "It should be over in a few days. But you should rest now. Your body needs it to recover."

Roy seemed unamused but nodded. "Okay."

"Alright then, see you guys. Poli, make sure not to spend too much time near him, I don't want you getting sick as well."

Poli simply nodded. "I'll keep that in mind."

Amber walked out, transforming back into her car form and driving off.

Poli turned back to Roy. "I should probably go too...sleep well." He came over and touched Roy's side. "Hope you get better soon." He paused before glancing away. "Love you.."

Roy smiled tiredly, blushing softly. "Love you too."

I've been so bored today so I've just been writing. Probably won't be posting as much tomorrow bc I have birthday party to go to (And they take a lot of energy for me-) so I may or may not post.

I will try though, I've been trying to write consistently with this book.
