Robocar poli stuff because yes

Part 3: Need You Back

"This is your new room!" Amber said, gesturing the the door in front of them with a fire symbol on it. "Make yourself comfortable. You can do what you want with the room to make it feel more homey to you. We cleaned it out yesterday but if you happen to find anything let us know and we'll take care of it." 

Angus nodded, driving slowly into the room. It was a small, yet comfortable space. "Thank you." He said to Amber watching wearily as she left. It would take a bit to get used to.

He transformed and looked through the room, noting things to himself and mentally mapping out how and where he would want things to go. It was fairly empty, but that was an easy fix. He looked into a small drawer in the corner of the room. He was about to close it again when he noticed something glimmer in the back. It was some kind of photo.

Curiously, he pulled it out, staring at it. It was a photo of Poli and someone else he didn't quite recognize. All he could tell was that they were a firetruck. Was that the car here before me? Did they retire? Do they have something to do with the 'incident' Amber brought up?

Poli seemed very happy with this car though. They stood beside one another, smiling. It seemed as though they were laughing on about something. Agnus shrugged and set the photo down, feeling a bit bad. I wonder what happened before I got here...Surely it has something to do with why Poli was so upset earlier?

Angus sat down on the floor of his room, a bit unsure of what to do. Perhaps I could go explore the town a bit. I need a map though. He headed upstairs, walking out of his room. Helly and Amber were chatting there. They turned to him.

"Do you like it?" Amber asked, flashing a smile. He nodded, feeling anxiety pulse through him. "It's...new to say the least. Um, I was wondering if I could look around town a bit? I thought it would be good to get an idea of the place I'm going to be spending my while so..."

"Oh yeah!" Amber said, turning to Helly. "Think you could find him a map?"

"Uh, sure!" Helly was snapped from his thoughts by Amber, though he flew up into his room. After a few moments he appeared again, a paper in hand. "Here." He said, passing it to Agnus. 

"Thanks. I'm probably going to head out. Bye." He turned away, going back into his room and outside. This was going to be interesting.

Poli huffed and kicked a small piece of rubber away. He was surprised when he heard a soft knock at the door. Great, the main thing he wanted at the moment was to be pestered again.

"What do you want?" He groaned, turning to face the door. Why couldn't they just leave him alone for a bit?

Helly's voice sounded from the other side. "Poli? Mind if we talk for a bit?" He sounded nervous. Poli wouldn't have been surprised if Amber or Jin were encouraging him to do this. He didn't reply but Helly came in anyway.

"Um, Hi." he said awkwardly. Poli just stared at him, clearly unamused. "Well, we wanted to say that we're sorry for not talking to you about Agnus first. We should have and we shouldn't have left you out on that."

"Okay? It's not like you can change it now." He snapped back. "Is this all you wanted to talk about? You could have saved it."

Helly shrugged. "No, actually. The other reason--the main one--is that we need you to start at least going on patrols again."

Poli rolled his eyes. "Oh so you really just don't care? You guys have already gotten over this so quickly. Don't want to at least have some respect for him? You were the ones that were so quick to replace him anyway!"

Helly's eyes flashed with quick anger. "No! I still haven't gotten over it, I'm sorry that I have a job to do and a town to take care of. I don't have a lot of time to just sit around in my room any longer. You're not the only one having issues you know! The reason why the others hired someone else so quickly is because we need to be at our best to protect the town properly. I personally think that we would have been fine either way but it's a good reason. Can't you see that?"

Poli scoffed and turned away.

Suddenly Helly felt a bit bad. "I'm sorry. I know he was your best friend and I really wish I could have done more about this. I understand how you feel but we need you. The town needs you. Can you at least try to get back into your routine ?" His voice softened with sympathy as he spoke.

Poli sighed, relaxing a bit. After a few moments he turned back to face him, though still looked weary. "I'll try my best I suppose."
