Lydia debated whether or not to read the email. She thought that maybe it would be a good idea to read it or hand it over to her brother. Alex would know what do. But this email was also sent to Lydia for a reason and she was meant to read it. Ms. Jacobs just wouldn't send Lydia an email for no good reason.

"Whatever." Lydia said to herself, "I'll just read the email."

She opened the email and began reading.

Dear Ms. Martin,

I know seeing this email shocked you. I don't even know if you'll read it but I hope you do. If you are reading, then you cannot tell anyone about this email. You cannot even tell your closest friend or even your family members. This must stay a secret because if anyone else knows then they will be in danger and you will be too.

Things are changing. The world is changing. Our normal and average world is shifting into something else. Something dangerous. I cannot reveal what it is, but plenty of high ranking people in America know about it.

I bet you are wondering why I sent an email to you. It doesn't make much sense, does it? You were my student and I was just one of your teachers. But I do have a secret that no one knows. Every person who holds a high position or ranking in society or where they work knows about what is coming. I  know I was a college professor, but that was my second job. I cannot reveal what my first job is.

You are the future, Lydia. The fate of humanity will soon rest in your hands. I am not able to say much, but there is a storm coming. You are experiencing the calm before the storm. Everything will change. There are only two ways this will end. This will end in death or destruction. You need to vanish. You need to disappear. There is no way to change the past, even though I wish I could, but there is a way to change the future.

I am not going to survive. I am going to be killed just like Farrah Jameson was. Our lives end in death, but yours doesn't have to. Whatever decision you make, make sure it's the right one. Mistakes cannot afford to happen. Good luck, Lydia. I have trust in you.

- Ms. Jacobs

Lydia closed the email and shut her laptop off. None of what she just read made sense. Lydia is the future? She needs to vanish? Everything is going to change? Lydia led a normal life. She was a college student that was graduating and worked for the newspaper. There was nothing odd about her life. The only time something weird happened when she was with Alex, but that was because he was a forensic scientist that had to investigate and analyze crimes and death for a living. If what was in the email was true, there was nothing Lydia could do. She didn't have control over anything. She was a normal girl who had a boring life.

After spending an hour just thinking about the email itself, Lydia decided it would be best to just forget about it. The best thing she could do was delete the email from her computer and her memory. Lydia's thoughts were interrupted by her phone ringing and saw it was her boss. Lovely, Lydia thought, now I have to talk to my diva-of-a-boss.

"Hello, Mrs. St. Claire." Lydia said, "What can I help you with?"

"Have you gone to the science laboratory to do follow up research on that top secret project?" Natasha's voice sounded more annoying on the phone than it did in person.

"No, I haven't."

Lydia's boss scoffed, "Really, Lydia? What if someone else has already gone there and is writing an article on it right now? Go to the science lab right now. I want the article in less than two weeks. Two weeks is your maximum time."

"But I don't graduate for another three and a half weeks! I have finals coming up." Lydia argued.

"Well that is not my fault." Natasha hung up and Lydia rolled her eyes. Lydia didn't know how it was possible, but Natasha managed to get worse than she already was.

"I'm not even working right now." Lydia said to herself as she searched her apartment for her notebook and pen. "Well, Mrs. St. Claire, it's not my fault that I'm the only journalist in the town that has access to then science lab and the police department. Wait, how is she even married? I pity the poor guy who has to deal with her"

Lydia walked out of her apartment and looked the door. She sighed, "I really need to stop talking to myself."

Luckily, the walk to the science lab was short. Lydia lived in such a convenient area that she walk anywhere and arrive in less than twenty minutes. She walked inside the building and saw Stiles in his normal lab coat, gloves, and goggle. He looked like he was lecturing one of the workers.

"Well I don't care if you tested it three times and it failed! Find the problem and fix it." Stiles said, "You're a scientist, Jerry. Only the best of the best get hired to work here! My dad didn't hire you to just come running to me every time you experience a problem with a prototype! This is your invention anyway."

"But-"

Stiles waved his hand, "Nope. You invented this thing and you're the one to fix it. Now please, get out of my face. I have work to do."

The guy, who Lydia assumed as Jerry, put his head down and walked away. Lydia laughed, "I didn't know that people took you so seriously."

"I'm the son of the guy who owns the place. Everyone listens to me. If anyone has a problem with something, they usually come to me which is stupid because I don't know how to fix their problems. I didn't create any of the stuff they work on." Stiles sounded annoyed which only made Lydia laugh more. "What's so funny?"

Lydia shrugged, "It's hard to believe the same guy who poured a monster energy drink into a coffee is the same guy who just yelled at a worker."

"Yeah well... yeah, I have nothing. Anyway, what makes you stop by here today?" Stiles questioned.

"My boss sent me to do a follow up report on the inventions that your dad is working on. Is it okay if I do that right now?"

Stiles nodded, "Of course. He's probably in the lab with Scott and Kira. They're running tests but should be done soon. I'll show you there."

"Awesome!" Lydia smiled, "Thank you, really."

"Ah, it's no-" Stiles got cut short as he looked to the side of him and he sighed. Lydia looked to where Stiles was looking, and saw the Jerry guy. "Excuse me for one moment."

Stiles dismissed himself and started walking towards Jerry, "For goodness sake, Jerry! What do you want now?"

"So you're saying that this experiment could be finished any day. Literally." Lydia said, "Last time I saw you, you told me it would be at least a month."

Doctor Stilinski nodded, "The serum, the trials, the work... it's all been working faster than expected. We still need to do more tests but this is almost done. We're so close to changing the human race."

"How many of these superhero serums do you have created?" Lydia then asked.

"At least forty." Stiles dad shrugged, "Fifty at the most. I need to recount how many tonight."

Lydia began to reply but she smelled smoke and looked around, "Do you guys smell that too?"

"Oh this is not good." Stiles said and rushed around, "This is definitely not good."

The ground began shaking and everyone panicked. What was happening? "Stiles!" Lydia yelled, "Stiles!"

"Lydia, get down!" Stiles yelled and Lydia barely managed to hear it.

She heard the sound of an explosion and saw everything getting blown to pieces. That was all she could remember before everything went black.
