Lydia woke up in a hospital room. She barely remembered what happened and had no clue how long she's been out. She remembered the explosion and remembered how much her head hurt. She remembered screaming so loud that it even hurt her ears.

"You're up!" Her friend and interning nurse, Allison Argent, said as she walked into Lydia's hospital room. "You've been out for three days."

"Seriously?" Lydia questioned.

"Mhm." Allison nodded, "You experienced some serious head trauma when you first came in here, but it healed in less than two days. No one knows how."

"And the science lab, how is that doing?" Lydia asked,

Allison shrugged, "As good as it could be doing. Police are still investigating what happened and it's still in ruins. We still have patients here from the explosion and fire."

"Were you anywhere near it?"

"Yeah, I was in the part of the hospital where everything collapsed. The doctors said that I should be dead right now because I was buried under tons of rubble. It's a miracle that I'm alive and came out with absolutely no scratches or bruises."

"That's insane." Lydia replied.

Allison looked up at her best friend, "Do you remembered when you screamed?"

"Vaguely."

"It was heard from two miles away. Someone became temporarily deaf because of it." Allison revealed.

"What!" Lydia exclaimed, "It was just a scream!"

"You're as surprised as any of us are. No one knows the answer. A whole bunch of weird stuff happened after the explosion and fire. I guess that facts and knowledge can't explain everything. Some things just can't be explained." Allison said, "You are free to go."

"Thanks, Allison. I'll see you later." Lydia got up from her hospital bed and changed into the pair of clothes she was wearing before the explosion. They weren't too messed up, so she wouldn't look weird walking around the streets of Beacon City.

She left the hospital and took a look at the lab. It was easy to tell which part caught on fire and which part exploded. She saw Stiles father standing in front of the demolished building with a concerned look on his face. "Are you okay?" Lydia asked as she walked over.

"I don't know." He replied.

"Is Stiles okay?" Lydia then asked.

"He's fine. Shaken up, but fine."

Lydia's head began to hurt again. She let out an annoyed sigh.

"Is your head- does it hurt?" The scientist asked.

"Yeah, it was fine earlier but now it just feels like there's a thousand other thoughts in it that aren't mine." Lydia said, "I'll just need to go home and take some medicine."

"Years of research and months of working just gone. Everything is just gone." Stiles dad said. He looked back at the building.

"But didn't you keep records of everything you created?" Lydia asked.

"Records that are stuck under pounds and pounds of rubble." He replied, "Something is happening now that's beyond my control and beyond everything I've seen."

"Everything seems the same to me." Lydia replied. She wondered if Doctor Stilinski was losing his mind. She understood if he was sad since years of research are just gone, but something weird was up with him. Something changed in him.

"Nothing's the same. Not anymore. The human race has changed forever. Nothing will ever be the same anymore." Doctor Stilinski said and turned around to walk away. "It's all my fault!" He yelled and left Lydia standing in confusion.

She thought that Doctor Stilinski really was losing his mind.
