chapter eight

A month and a half passed since the explosion. One long and painful month. Lydia always got random headaches, especially when she was out in public. Music helped her. She always tended to blast music more often.

She graduated from college with high honors and began working full time at the newspaper. With the science lab demolished, she did reports on the happenings in the Beacon City Police Department and the Beacon City hospital.

It was also two months she saw anybody from the science lab. She never saw Stiles, Kira, Scott, or Doctor Stilinski since the explosion. Some days she felt like she was going crazy and that there was something wrong with her mind. She went frequently to get checkups but her dad said that she was completely fine and there was nothing to worry about.

The explosion and fire happened on purpose. No one knows who set it off, but it was planned and intentional. The police department worked tirelessly to find out how and why someone destroyed the building. Everything seemed so suspicious to Lydia. With the murders, the email, and the explosion. Nothing made sense.

Lydia sat on her couch as she wrote an article for the newspaper. She was writing about the ongoing investigation with science lab and the article was due in two days. As Lydia wrote, her cell phone rang and she saw it was Stiles. How odd, Lydia thought, I haven't talked to him more than a month. "Hey, Stiles." Lydia said as she closed her laptop.

"Come to the science lab. Now." Stiles said and hung up.

"What- okay?" Lydia put her phone down. She changed out of her pajamas and into more presentable clothes. She grabbed her purse and walked out of her apartment, making her way to the science lab.

When she arrived, she saw Stiles standing outside. "What are you doing?" She asked.

"Follow me."

"Are you going to kill me?" Lydia questioned as she followed him through the woods. "Or are you kidnapping you? For your information, I am a black belt karate and could easily snap your arm."

"I'll keep that in mind." Stiles said. "Scott, Kira, my father, and I have been building a place to do research at since the science lab exploded."

"That's great but why is it in the woods?"

Stiles shrugged, "It's not going to be used for something quite like the old one." The two stopped walking and reached a building. Lydia observed the building. It wasn't big like the science lab but was wide and was one floor.

"How did you guys manage to build all of this in a month and a half?" Lydia asked. She was shocked, a normal one story building would definitely take more than five months to build.

"You'll find out soon enough." Stiles took out his ID then scanned it. He than did an eye scan and a hand print scan. The door opened and he led Lydia inside. Lydia's jaw dropped. The lab looked even more technological and advanced than the old one. It was beautiful inside and she could barely believe how well it was built.

Lydia began to feel weird again and her head hurt. It was happening again. She looked around the room and saw five other people. Stiles and Kira were sitting in chairs talking to Doctor Stilinski, there was a guy with brown curly hair playing around with the technology, and she saw Allison with her chained one of the walls.

"Why the hell is my best friend chained up?" Lydia asked as she ran toward Allison.

"Lydia, don't touch me."

"I'm going to help-"

"Don't touch me. Trust me on this." Allison said in a more serious tone.

"Isaac! Stop playing around on my computer!" Stiles yelled as he slapped away Isaac's hand. "You do not touch any of this."
